My first cash flow stream, or muse, took me too long to build and cost 3 times as much had I known then what I know now.

That being said, I used to first stable cash flow to pay myself back and bootstrap into progressively more ambitious project.

As soon as your IM activities are matching your 9-5 salary, its time to blow up the cubicle and do whatever you feel like doing.

  • I'm a newbie and looking forward to the replies. Mamma's gotta pay those vet bills, invest in a new outfit or two and save for a replacement car. That's my plan...

Then I'll think about traveling to see some friends in Europe with my honey.

I used it to start five more sites. Then I used that income to start another five sites. By my third "payment" to myself I could make my pay my car payment and insurance. Oh and my online income bailed me out of jail in June...

It was a $5 transaction back in 2006 I believe. Once paypal took their cut, I was probably left with $4.85. I have no idea what ever happened to it

My first online income came back in 2003 or so, from providing web hosting and domain-name registration services, and a bit of web-designing.

What I did with my very first payment, I don't recall exactly.

I do remember I spent absolutely thousands of pounds on random stuff over the next couple of years. DVDs, books, guitars, guitar amplifiers, random guitar accessories, computers, games consoles, online subscriptions, magazine subscriptions, etc. Everything, really.

And when faced with the task of selling off or dumping a lot of it later (due to a lack of space or need), I wished I'd have just saved my money and used more of it for travelling and the things I really care about.

    You live and learn, eh?

I'm not as dumb as I once was, but I'm still far from being smart - and I'm certainly more frugal and wise when it comes to spending money.

My first online income was like "come and gone" because i was in need of money badly so i didn't even think of reinvesting it and have to pay some debts. And when income get increased (within last 3-4 months) then first thing i did was buying war room membership.

When I got my first check from Adsense I reinvested it. At that time I had lost lots of money to that point so I promised myself that I would get myself cash positive from that point forward. I dont buy anything now unless its a killer product and if i buy through clickbank and the product doesn't do what the sales page says then i get a refund.

I'd love to say something clever like I invested it back into my "business." However, the truth is, after I finished jumping up and down, I banked it and then spent it.

Hookers and blow...but then I realized I didn't have a 'guy' and already had a 'girl', so I bought a new computer chair instead - well that and a plane ticket to Hawaii, but I had already planned on doing that anyways.

I honestly can't remember. It was so long ago. Probably just spent it on food, rent and bills.

Sure, it's great if you have the presence of mind to reinvest it into your IM business. But most probably just spend it for everyday life stuff.

  • I bought a new computer and an external backup Hard Drive. My old laptop was totally wasted so I "re-invested" in my business with a new Dell PC with my first $1,000

Man, those times were exciting... I remember getting my first check from Clickbank and I was like if I had won the lottery!
