5 minutes to make a movie with 3D characters: good for marketing?

Hey fellow Warriors,

I came across a site, xtranormal dot com (not affiliated), which lets you easily create a movie with 1 or 2 characters. You type in what you want them to say, and they sound it out. The voice comes out really funny, but I guess that could be a good thing, right? I was wondering if anyone uses something like that for IM. That would be an interesting approach, right?

  • That looks really interesting. As an aspiring filmmaker myself, this really piqued my interest. However, not quite sure how it can be used for internet marketing, as generally video marketing is more about the content than the flash or cuteness factor. But who knows, you could have something like this go viral.

  • That is a cool site - I played around with it a while back and it looks like they have added a lot of new stuff which is cool.

    The only downside is that it looks like you have to buy a commercial account if you want to use it for commercial purposes. Not sure how much that costs though.

    • Last time I looked, they'd removed the commercial account option altogether but still insist in their TOS that you need one in order to use the software for commercial purposes. Not quite sure how that's expected to work - even I'm not that fluent in double Dutch

  • This can actually be good for viral videos, and just funny videos during a launch phase maybe to make your prospects laugh and build a relationship with them.
