How to Build A List On Facebook That Will Explode Your Business

Hi All:

I've been studying Facebook and I'm slowly building a fan base with which to market to. I have to say, social media is the most powerful way to build an online business and it's still in its infancy!

Currently, over 600,000,000 people use Facebook (that's 1 in every 13 people on the planet!), and at any given time, 50% of them are on Facebook for approximately 55 minutes.

The average Facebook user has about 135 friends. Now, if that's not a golden opportunity to explode your business...

If you have a Facebook account, I would highly suggest you create a Fan Page related to your online business. Fan Pages are very customizable and you can:
  • Insert an opt-in form
  • Graphics
  • Photos
  • Video
  • Paypal button, etc.
It's like having a mini website with unlimited potential.

To create a Fan Page, I use FanPageEngine which is an extremely easy and very affordable program that will allow you to create powerful Fan Pages.

Then, invite friends to visit your page and ask them to "Like" it. The magic of Facebook is that when friends click on the "Like" button on your Fan Page, that will show up on all of their friends' newsfeeds, giving you even more exposure for your business.

It's very viral in nature and a great way to build a powerful fan base.

Once you've built a fan base, post valuable content to your wall, photos, videos, etc. Build a relationship with them, then start monetizing your fan base.

I would highly suggest you visit Jo Barnes' Facebook Fan Page, "2000 Fans In 27 Days". Her video program is excellent and very powerful and it will teach you how to harness the power of Facebook to explode your business.

You can find her here on the WF under "Entreprenette".

Hope you found this useful. I wish everyone great success in everything you do!

The best way to build fans is to offer a string of free webinars, and presell/upsell from there.

Many successful marketers do webinars on facebook.
Contests also work well, especially if there is a hot reward. Ryan Deiss recently ran one on facebook and got a load of new fans this way.

You can also offer you newly found fans a great FREE offer if they just complete 2 simple (non credit card) CPA offers. I make around 3k per month from doing this and it is so easy to set up. Nice post OP !

    Thank you for the information.

I was looking for something to help me create Facebook fan pages, is there any other software or service that you would recommend?

    Regards,

I'll try this. My friends aren't really the demographic of my website but perhaps if I plead them to like it.

CLINT: The best and most reasonable program I've found for creating Fan Pages is FanPageEngine.com. Look around, I'm sure there are others out there but this is the one I've used and I really like it.

JENMARIE: You're permitted up to 5,000 friends on Facebook so I would recommend making friends with people who are in your niche. You can do a search on Facebook for well known IM'ers or people in your niche who have succeeded in their particular niche.

For example, if you're into personal development, do a search for Jack Canfield, Anthony Robbins, etc.

Look at their friend's list and choose people from their list who have more than 1,000 friends. Take the time to look at each person's profile to be certain they have the same interests as you.

Ask to be their friends (it's very important to leave a personal message when asking to be someone's friend as this will promote trust and increase the percentage of people who accept your request.)

Post valuable content to your wall, often. Create an interesting Fan Page with free offers and an opt-in form to capture their email addresses.

If you don't want your personal friends/family to constantly be presented with your online business info, simply go to the upper right hand corner of your profile page to the "Account" tab and select "Edit Friends".

From there, select "Create A List". From there, you can create lists for certain groups of friends (i.e. personal friends, business friends, family).

By creating friends lists, you can choose which group of friends will receive the info posted on your wall.

For example, you don't want your "business friends" knowing what movie you went to see last weekend or what color shoes you just bought, nor do you want to burden your family and personal friends with all of the details of your online business.

I hope this helps you with the "demographic" dilemma.

I created a Facebook page not too long ago, but have been somewhat lackadaisical in promoting it. I know there's a lot of earning potential, but I have a hard time getting into it.

I should do more with it, though.

You would be surprised how quickly you can build a fan base on Facebook. It's the same as a list and you alot easier than article and forum marketing.

I have friends who have built a list of over 4,000 friends in less than 5 weeks.

That's impressive! Your friend should write a report on how to achieve this so other people can also do it... I know that many people would love to find out about this...

What is everyone's thoughts on creating more than on facebook fan page? For example, I have a product that I give away a free sample for, should I create a fan page specifically for that free sample offer, or is that over kill? I already have a fan page for my business, but I was thinking creating another page just for that product might be a good idea, any thoughts, opinions, suggestions?
