domain question......

hi

for experimental purposes, i want to get a tld, and mess around with the subdomains.

if i - hypothetically speaking - put up subdomains, and redirect them to - say - blogger blogs.....

would those blogs be capable of acquiring any pagerank in time ?

just toying with an idea.......

The blogger blogs will get pagerank if you build links to them. But why would you redirect a property of your own to a property you do not own.
Mostly you use it the other way around.

    Curious what your idea is.

the idea is to build related minisites, but to be able to just add on indefinitely, without any worries about disk space or bandwidth.

in south africa these tend to cost a bit more.......

I would be MUCH more worried that the service may shutdown, change dramatically, or even start charging to access your own content...

Many 'Free' services have been slowly changing over to a 'Paid' business model...

Take a look at NetZero... they used to be free.

Don't rely on any third parties to host (and in some instances OWN) your hard work... You are just building content for THEM, basically generating ad revenue for THEM... but not yourself.

Ex: Squidoo shares some of the ad revenue with you, this is a great thing... but still you get 100% revenue by hosting your own content.

It's MUCH smarter to run/host/be in control of your own content.

Free blogs & other social networking pages are just a way to drive traffic /increase PR / Backlinks to YOUR OWN Site.

It would have pagerank but why not on your own domain?

the idea is to use my own domain, devided into subdomains for related niches. i am trying to get around local limitations for bandwidth , disk space, and relative costs due to a weak currency
