What's the best alternative to Google Analytics?

I would prefer to stay off their radar. What other good stats programs are out there?

I'm not sure how well it matches up to Analytics since I usually use server based software myself, but I always used to prefer StatCounter.

There are a couple of "self hosted" stat packages I really like. http://piwik.org/ and FireStats

Google Analytics is comprehensive and free. If you have a web site, you're already on their radar, so it's a good thing to maximize all they have to offer.

I would recommend Sitemeter. It also offers comprehensive real time website tracking. I use that too..

Truthfully, I use Analytics along with two other stats programs which does include my server stats package that comes with my hosting.

I also track ALL CLICK leaving my sites with custom software through plugins, etc, and compare this to all my stats collected at the end of each month.

Relying on one tracking package, or script, you'll not get accurate numbers for various reasons. So this is why I have other numbers to compare too. Especially sense I also run my own ad server for my whole network. I have to be able to know, as accurate as possible, ALL traffic coming into my sites, how long they stay, when they leave, how they left, where they went, how often they come back, etc, etc. You get the idea.

But this is just me, I love math and analyzing numbers.

I have used Statcounter.com too and they are good for real-time tracking. Their free account is enough for a small site.

    Alright Favorite 2 - Getclicky or reinvigorate.net

It costs about $10 a month but just worth every penny to me.
