I currently use hostgator and I have hundreds of wordpress blogs up.

It takes less than a minute for each wordpress blog using the fantastico option on hostgator's cpanel.

Let me chime in here too. I also like Hostgator because I've not had any reason to leave.

By doing a search though, I'm sure there are many others here who have had a lot of success with other hosts. I say Hostgator, but, take the time to search the forum. I'm sure there are others that come very highly recommended. What you have here is just 4 peoples opinion, this doesn't conclude anything. Having said that, if this is your first site, Hostgator would be more than adequate.

Hostgator has my vote as well.

While you may find other cheaper hosting services, will they have 24/7/365 tech support AND will you be able to understand what they are saying when they do answer the phone?

For the features they offer and for around $5.00 a month you really can't beat it!

        hey,

I host my blog at hostmantis !
i gotta say ... no downtime yet, very quick pageload
all that considering i'm far away from the actual server

you might wanna look there , and the price is pretty decent too

        just my 2 cents

Hostgator has been the choice for me over the last 3 years!

Started using them with static html sites and now use them exclusively for WP.

Any of the big names will work. Just be careful, just because they advertise unlimited everything, it doesn't mean they are going to be very happy when you're running 100's of blogs and burning through gigs of bandwidth. Be sure to read the fine print on those deals.

Myself, I've had no issues with godaddy even though everybody else hates them.

I've been with Bluehost for a while now and am very happy with the service. For only $6.95 a month you get unlimited domain hosting and email accounts.
