Great Facebook Method - Make Your Pages Go Viral!

Hey guys,

This method is my own, and I use it to build big facebook fan pages to market to. I'm gonna break it down barney style, quick and dirty for yall.

step 1 - check google trends for hot searched topics. Anything embarassing that celebrities do is perfect. check stupid websites like tmz and crap like that. the more popular and embarassing and ridiculous, the better.

step 2 - create a facebook fan page revolving around this hot google trend

step 3 - promote your fan page with facebook ads, but dont pay for clicks, pay for impressions!

step 3 - Watch your page go viral.

I just created a group 3 days ago, and before I could even get a chance to start promoting the fan page with an ad, I already had 500 members. Literally. I created the group, went to bed and woke up around 10, checked my page and I had roughly 500 members.

People love when embarassing stuff happens to people, and they will like it on facebook if you create a fan page about it.

I have tons of great resources for facebook marketing, maybe i'll create a short WSO about it! Or are there already too many facebook products out there???

Anyways, good luck!
I hope this thread helps someone

and what is your plan to monitize this? Gonna sell pics of celebs in compromising positions or something?

I've never marketed with Facebook and don't know the benefits, but you're right. From being just a Facebook user, I can tell how quickly these things go viral.

For example, in the UK we have a programme called I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. I believe the US has the same programme?

Anyway, there was one contestant who was scared of everything, complained all the time and was generally just a really annoying person. She was nominated for all the trials and one night she "fainted" (strong rumours that she faked it) live on air.

Some clever soul goes and starts a Facebook fan page and within hours it had thousands of members. Now it has like 390k members. Here's the link:

Quick, get the oxygen out, Gillian McKeith's just touched a leaf | Facebook

Question: How do you monetize pages like this?

you could sell the page itself which people find extremely valuable (some pay $5000 or more for pages with 100,000 + fans) or sell the posts ($30 per post or something) or use it to promote new fan pages for different niches.

There are just too many ways to make money without exploiting someone else's unfortunate situation.

Unless you have been there yourself, you just don't understand.

Every embarassing story out there isn't the fault of the person it is about.

These people have families and feelings, too.

Yes, by the way, I AM in the Witness Protection Program. I could tell you who I am but then I would have to kill you.

These people have families and feelings, too.

If you think a bit different, you won't hurt feelings.

Example: Not too long ago there was a huge fan page...

'Can this pickle get more fans than Nickleback'

Nickleback is a Canadian band that's big worldwide.

Well, last I looked ( a few months ago ) the pickle had close to 100,00 fans or something like that.

I think the female owner of the fan page sold it and the new owners haven't done anything with it.

I wouldn't say that it hurt Nickleback's feelings...more embarrassing then anything

        One important thing to remember...

Be careful how you try to make money from it.

If you try CPA's and things like like, well, you will get slammed by the fans.

They are getting hip to all that.

You're better off selling T-shirts, ball caps etc.

You just have to be sneaky and word it correctly. You don't want to just spam them and say "hey, fill out this cool offer".

Landon, let's face it - Facebook is the new Google - LOL. But seriously there can never be too many Facebook products as long as you offer quality. I've been sitting on the domain name "HowToMakeMoneyOnFacebook.com" - so you build your product and I'll sign on to promote it.

This is really interesting. I'm on a list and I get the same press releases at the same time places like TMZ, Radaronline and USweekly get them. I've been trying to figure out a way to monetize this.

Thats a great idea. I just started using FB fan pages and for some reason I'm creating a Fashion Designer Clothing Store. I don't sell on FB I post links to my site and from there sales takes place. Only 3 people so far. I need to do more research on niches. I'm not so keen about trends as it tends to die out quickly.

Nice post. But let me just clarify. You'll sell the page or posts? Is it like the concept of selling blogs but you'll sell Facebook page instead of blogs or website? This is interesting.
