Submitting Articles To More Than 1 Directory Or Not?

Hi,

I have some articles I have written and submitted them to ezinearticles and they have been approved. Some are ranking in Google for the keywords I targeted and some are not. Im not trying to get backlinks to my site because my site is just a squeeze page. Im just trying to drive traffic to the squeeze page.

My question is if I submit the exact same article to say articlesbase, hubpages and buzzle will that effect my articles ranking on Google? Should I only submit an article to 1 site or can I submit the exact same article to a lot of sites? Really confused about this. Thanks

    Hey corey,

Keep to only submitting to one website.

Most article directories will not approve an article if it has already been submitted else where.

Try your hand at article spinning, changing just enough of the article to make it look unique and then submit to other directories, there is also software out there which can do this for you.

Another way to reuse your articles is to make them into videos and submitting them too youtube and other video sharing websites.

Yes, go ahead and submit your articles to those other directories too.
I do this all the time and have seen one article ranking well in 2 or more directories at a the same time.

You are leaving traffic and rankings on the table if you're just using EZA for submission.

I don't know what to say, it is better to submit different articles in different sites

I would multiple submitt if you are turn down you are turn down. If you are accepted then you have multipled your chances.

The only time I would NOT post to another site is if they have rules in place about multiple postings.

Lol, try submitting a duplicate article to EZA. You'll get your account locked until you email them and basically apologize for trying to spam their directory.

And almost every article site has some mention of not submitting articles that are live elsewhere

LOL...im confused. If I post the exact same article to other sites I should post it to no more than say 5-10 sites right? But won't this effect my ezinearticle rankings in Google?

I have always just submitted unique articles to certain directories and never submit the same one to other places but im wondering if im missing traffic because of that.

You can submit the exact same article to many directories and most of them will accept it. You might as well submit to the top 10 or so. It's just that many more opportunities for getting the traffic you want. I never spin articles or write unique versions for different directories.

Thanks Trent but are you sure submitting even to the top 10 is smarter than just submitting to 1 directory? Perhaps if you submit to the top 10 none of your articles rank on Googles first page for the keyword you are targeting because there's 10 of them?

This wouldn't make sense in googles eyes.

If duplicate content exists, it is generally because someone has made a page that has noteworthy content on it (at least, this is the case OUTSIDE of Internet Marketing).

Because of this, at least one of your articles (or potentially all of them) will be taken as having more relevance and authority within googles eyes.

I would also submit to other directories since it’s a good way to get your links around the net. You can submit the same article or you can spin them so there will be variety on the article. I also agree on the concept of video suggested above for the purpose of building additional links, ranking, and traffic.

If I am writing an article for syndication I will usually just submit to the top four directories. Such as EzineArticles and Go Articles. I will also spend time on the article and make sure that it is structured properly and full of kick butt content.

If I am writing an article for back links, I will submit to thousands of directories. And I also will spin it and not worry so much about the content. I make sure that it is valuable and readable content but I'm not trying to win any awards with it.

Hmmm....so im thinking of submitting to just the top 5 article directories. First ezine so they approve it...then 4 others. This could not effect my search engine rankings though? I know there's a whole debate about this and nobody really knows. But I was wondering if anyone has experience about this.

Some top websites like Buzzle for example require your stuff be unique and not found anywhere else.

Just get a spinner or something and take an hour or so to make several versions of your article and then submit each of them to various sites.

You can submit to the others as well and it wont hurt your ranking cause ezinearticles is a trusted source to it wont get penalized..i have done it many times..however, as far as boosting rankings this wont work cause google will detect the duplicate content and filter out as far as I am concerned..

Thanks. Im just trying to get traffic not backlinks. I know EZA brings the most traffic but im thinking goarticles and articlesbase are good too just for traffic. Im just building my list so any traffic is perfect of course
