If your online business strategy is to build a list, then effective email marketing is extremely important to the success of your business.

You invest a significant amount of time and effort in developing your product/s, web pages, and the generating of traffic. The pay off of all that work is tied, to a great extent, to how effective your emails are written.

Here are a few tips to consider and apply that may help improve the effectiveness of your email copy;

1) Subject line - this one line will make or break your efforts. The goal is to get the reader to open the email. You have 40 to 50 character spaces in which to accomplish this goal. Here is a little tip that has worked for me. I get 1000's of emails each week. I don't open them all. In fact I open very few but the one's I do open are the ones in which the subject line capture my attention. So, I created a notepad page titled "Email Subject Lines" and I copy and paste every subject line that gets my attention into the notepad and I have 100's of potential subject lines to use for my emails.

2) Avoid Being Spam - avoid spam keywords, don't use generic salutations like - Dear User -, don't link to ip addresses, don't capitalize all the letters in the subject line or use several exclamation marks, etc.

3) Focus on Benefits - tell don't sell. Don't waste space trying to sell the product or service instead focus on telling how whatever you are trying to get the reader to do will benefit them.

4) Make Links Visable - make sure the links you include are easy to see.

5) Clear Call to Action - make sure the reader can easily know what you want them to do and how to do it or what they can expect next from you.

Make sure you use simple, plain, and clear language.

You can increase your profits without spending any more time or working any harder just simple tweaking and improving your email copy.

Go for it!
