Simple Wordpress question (Ack!!)

I'm setting up a Wordpress site for the first time.

My question is, how do I get one of the pages to show up as the main page (index page?) of the website?

Right now the "Hello World" post is what's displayed when someone types the site's domain into the browser.

How can you change what the home page is?

    you can delete Hellow World page and create new page and set it from your admin panel........ in general setting.

    In general settings you can select to display a specific page that you select.

    Hey BillyBee,

    Wordpress is a blog, and you need to login to your dashboard
    usually it's like this ( http://www.yourdomain.tld/wp-admin ) , if you installed it in a different folder on your server it's( http://www.yourdomain.tld/folder/wp-admin )
    in there you can change about everything on your blog, you can add posts ( the hello world is a ddefault post , but you can change it under posts
    if you want your blog to show a custom page , you have to make one under pages and go to >setting>reading>and there you can set a custom page as your homepage

    i hope this helps you a bit further

    You need to create the page you want to be your home page. Then, under the dashboard go to settings. Underneath settings you want to go to reading. Then, you want to select the page you created to be your homepage as the static front page.
