Questions About Launching A Product / Advice Needed

Hi All!

I'm new here so please bare with me

Can you guys recommend some solid info for a beginner on launching a product online? I'm talking about books, courses, WSO's, forum posts, anything good.

The Back Story

I researched IM years and years ago but got caught up with working, moving, working working etc. For the past month I've been looking for ways to make some money online. I figured I should start by looking into writing, as I was a broadcast news writer for years. Ended up at the WF about 2 weeks ago when Google pointed me toward the copywriter's forum. And you guys have got me thinking about internet marketing again, so thanks!

Anyway, I bought the Clickbank Cash Cow WSO from Chris Kent last weekend, thinking it would be a great way to brush up on affiliate marketing. And it is. But what really got my noggin ticking was one of the bonuses, The Easy Product Blueprint. It's a great beginner's guide to creating info products and launching them on Clickbank.

My mother wrote a book about a decade ago, and I always told her it would work great as an information product. So, we've decided to elaborate on it by writing 4 e-books based on the material. It's in the health and beauty niche, and is very unique information. She has testimonials for the book from a New York Times bestselling author and widely respected doctor, as well as a well-known editor. I have no doubt it will sell very well. I've seen extremely popular affiliate products that sell very well, and this honestly put's them to shame as far as quality goes. But again, we don't know much about things like getting launch partners, finding "super affiliates", creating buzz online etc. So if anyone can point me towards some books, courses etc I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

Before deciding what courses to buy, I suggest you stay around in the forum and learn from the ppl here. If you have the budget, go for a war room membership. It will be the best investment ever...

My advice is get your product website setup as soon as possible. You can get some amazing free mini sites at MiniSiteGallery.com » Free Mini-Site Templates & Design

Pick one that you like (remember less is more) choose something simple. Take a look at some good product websites in your niche and model after their sales copy. Do not copy it but look at how they structure their copy and do the same.

Don't forget about an affiliate page to help affiliates promote your products and then you can start concentrating on the next step which is getting traffic.

Don't fret over a big product launch production at this stage, just get the thing up and ready to sell...

I'd get a copy of optimize press and set up the site as a perpetual launch. Then you and your eventual JV's can drive traffic anytime.

Then use it. Do what it says. You'll quickly find out where it's right and where it's wrong. But by all means, get off your arse and just do it.

What's the worst that can happen? You don't make any money? But... you're already there. Take the plunge and see what happens. At worst, you're out about $50, and most decent WSOs will cost that much anyway. Don't buy another WSO. Take what you have and do it.

    +1 to what Caliban said.

The best thing you can do right now, is forget all the other stuff "launch, affiliates, ect" and just follow that blueprint and get your books created.

Then work on a salespage and get your books online and avaliable for sale using whatever method is quickest for you (CB, paypal, ejunkie, ect)

Once you've done all that only then should you start considering all the other stuff.

If you try and take on to much to quick you will find yourself in permanent research mode and analysis paralysis and you'll never get anything done.

Also more important than a launch or affiliates or practically anything else, is making sure your sales copy and process convert well, otherwise you'll be wasting your time recruiting affiliates or promoting a launch.

    Hope that helps,

Wanted to drop back in and say thanks to everyone who replied! We're continuing on with writing the ebooks. Several years ago, I found some John Carlton copywriting DVDs at a yard sale. Being interested in all kinds of writing, I picked them up but never watched them because I wasn't selling anything at the time. We just started to go through his Simple Writing System, and it's filled with great info.

I agree with Tanner move slow if you try and take on to much to fast your head will spin and you won't get anything accomplished. Good luck in your ebook writing venture, there is always a market for good ebook writers.
