Brand New to internet Marketing

Hey everybody, my name is Kevin C. and I'm new to Internet Marketing. I currently built my site ab-mazing-exercises.com. Had it for about a month, and not seeing a whole lot of traffic I would say 10 people a day if I'm lucky.

I hear all these people who have sucess with internet marketing, but I was wondering does it just take time to see a profit.

I was also wondering if anyone had any useful tips, for this newbie. I added adsense, tried adwords, clickbank, and other affiliates on my page, created a facebook, twitter, and a blog for my website. Have yet to see any traffic, is this typical?

Most, if not all my traffic have come from adwords, but I got a promo on it, so haven't had to pay, but it seems to cost so much for minimal results. even used trafficswarm, and got pretty much nothing.

Any tips from the veterans would be greatly appreciated, I'm just trying to get out of this 9-5 rat race, and work for myself.

Thanks,
Kevin C.

For one never use a traffic exchange you are wasting your time the traffic does not convert period! You are wasting your time with them! Move On To Techniques That Work!

Secondly: keep adding content to your blog and target some keywords to go after for SEO purposes related to your blog. You can use the free Google adwords keyword research tool to target keywords to go after. Think high searches with low competition.

Third: Drive traffic to your site, and build backlinks!

    A. Blog commenting
    B. Video marketing
    C. Article Marketing
    D. Forum postings
    E. Yahoo Answers
    F. Social Bookmarking
    G. Press Releases
    H. Hubpages a great web 2.0 site

These are just a few traffic generating techniques. Do 1 at a time and do not overwhelm yourself it will take some time but you will get there just be persistent!

And also remember to build quality backlinks to your site!

The more traffic you have the more money you will make! Be persistent and keep at it good things come to those who wait!

Hope that helps, and good luck!

I'm no veteran but here are my thoughts:

    1) Put some videos in your website ie:

Personally I would rather watch a video then read. If you don't beleive me take a poll.

    2) Do you have a newsletter? If no, collect email addresses and do a newsletter. Constant contact can handle your email marketing.

    3) Is your site interactive? Maybe allow people to ask you questions and you answer them? Make a new article each week based on questions?

    4) Maybe add more pictures?

    5) Its a good site, but just seems a little dry that's all.

    Hope this helps

It seems that everyone is pretty much saying the same thing and then some. Makes sense to me now. I just need to be patient, and just keep plugging away at it.

I appreciate all the positive feedback, nice to know there's good people out there trying to help.

    Thanks,
    Kevin C.

    Kevin,

I may have missed it, if so sorry about that but I wanted to advise you not to forget to get set up some sort of way to capture your visitors names. Start building your list if that's a niche you want to stay with long term.

Offer a free report, if they provide their info then set up a newsletter with an auto responder series, lot of possibilities but focusing on your list early while providing the reader with a good experience is a good start.
