Do you use Amazon Affiliates?

I know this should be affiliate 101 but I don't attend classes, so I need your help warrior to warrior.

I need a little explanation about Amazon Affiliates, I have tried using amazon in the past but couldn't make any sale - not even a pencil.

I started using it again November (on a different site) promoting some DVD movies and books and I've made about 22$ from 16 sales - some of which are not the DVD's or books.

If I refer a new customer to amazon, do I get commission out of every other purchase, even for life or just one time.

If yes, what happens if someone else refer another product to this person?

        This is the review thread on it.

        I started this course a couple of weeks ago, I've made one sale so far for $13 commission and I haven't really been working on it that hard.

        He teaches you how to select good product that pay a little higher commissions - it's a very good course.

        Yup - bought it and am using it now.

        It's very good except there are some definite holes. Nothing major but there are some tweaks I'd recommend.

      Once you get through all the upsell offers the course is fantastic. It will help you a lot with promoting amazon products.

    If I remember correctly your tracking cookie lasts 24 hours, or until they purchase something, or until someone else refers them whichever comes first.

    The cookie lasts for only 24 hours, but I believe your commission percentage is based on your number of sales. A lot of people have sites to sell small stuff to make their number of sales and then bigger things (tv's, etc.) for bigger commissions

    The commission % is too low and mostly US centric. I should go for a complete amazon store and not put amazon widgets in my site which i think will convert less.

    I understand what you mean. I recently signed up for Amazon affiliates and I am not making any money at all. I am enjoying the ideas in this post!

    I agree with Sheryl.

    The course is very good, especially if you are a newbie like me. It's easy to follow and understand. It normally costs $37, but if you try to close the page you can get it for $27.

    I have started to get more involved with Amazon, and I am starting to see results now. I have one site that is dedicated to sending traffic to amazon and it has started to gain some momentum.

    My strategy is to send as much traffic as possible. I do not care if the product cost $ 1 or $ 10.000. As long as enough people are on amazon, they will spend money. Especially around christmas.

    Most of my sales are from products I am not promoting. Books and DVD boxes are the most popular.

    If you can sell for around $2.000 each day, you will make a full time income (2000 * 8% *365 = 58.000).

    Average customer is $70. I have to send 30 customer on average each day to reach that goal.

    Since you will get a nice chunk of sales from unrelated sales, my advice is try to stick to the higher priced items! You'll sell enough low priced items from the unrelated sales...Trust me!

      Never have any good experience with amazon aff. Maybe I am not sticking with it too long though.

      You gotta sell lots of products to grab some decent money since the commission percentage are quite low. Not mention the tracking cookie that only last for a day.

      I have to agree with above me btw -> stick to high price products
