What Blueprint Do You Use??

I'm just starting out in IM.. And with all the info products available, overload can be a problem.
Some guru's say it is better to do niche marketing via blogging.. What this means is to make alot of small blogs with targeted topics.. i.e. "German Shepherd Dog Training", rather than just "Dog Training" as a whole. But how many blogs is ideal?? How about the content, do I just need scrape it in article sites or youtube? If I will produce original content day after day, this will come out costly and time consuming.
Others say, the best way is to do Article Marketing and point the links to a squeeze page.. Then just start simply do email marketing to the visitors. Does this system work?
I have a squeeze page in my homepage and blog on my backend.
