Google News dropping sites.

A month ago i received an email from a top SEO guru about a webinar that was going to teach how to rank number one on google as fast as under 10 minutes. The strategy was basically about creating a website and getting it accepted as a google news source from which you can post news articles which easily rank top of google. As much as the strategy really works, google also works even harder. Alot of people started implementing the strategy, but alot were too short of the concept and went ahead to make google news an SEO loophole. They were now even not giving news but promoting whatever comes to their minds. An example of an a website that recently got banned from google news found on the stories below.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I saw an article about creating these sites not too long ago. Looks like it may get a lot harder to do in the future.

It's a fact ... Becoming a Google News publisher is well worth it. Becoming a Google News spammer is not. Google reviews sites even after they are accepted to see what they're up to and if you are spamming Google News, you'll be gone.

It isn't any different than any other media that marketers try to take advantage of without playing by the rules. Twitter spam, Craigslist spam, Facebook spam, article spam. Very short term business plans. A real Google News site that offers quality news is a long term business plan. Some are just too shortsighted to see that.

Sometimes I see some sites that got approved and wondered how google even considered it. I mean straight up junk. I definately agree this is a long term business model and shouldn't be treated as a instrument to raid keywords to promote cpa or affiliate products.

I have to say a lot of the Google News sites are not that impressive.
Unfortunately, you see the influence of marketers affecting these sites. If G is serious about having an authentic group of 'News Sites', then I don't blame them for dropping these sites.
