Website loads slow. Any advice?

Hey everyone.

I am hoping you tech gurus might be able to help me here. I have been having an issue with the load time for one of my wordpress blogs. I am sure it is hurting my conversions but I have yet to determine what is causing it to load so slow.

Any advice as why this may be is certainly appreciated!

If you don't want to try to look for the bottlenecks in your Wordpress website yourself, you can try to use the SaaS solution of AcceloWeb which automatically accelerates any website and resolves the protocol and client side performance bottlenecks (which are most of the bottlenecks in almost any website),

  • Answers to your question could be very technical and stem from a whole number of issues, so can't really be answered in a post like this.

So presumably you are asking the question because you aren't tehical and don't have root or Cpanel access to your server for example.

If that is the case and you don't manage the server yourself contact your hosting company.

The sooner its resolved the better.

    Hi Mate,

You can check if your site have lots of outbound links, mainly check images are hosted outside of your host or not. Also check some plugins, like, statpress, yet another related posts, etc. They takes huge resource and slows down loading. You can also use cached plugins. Those remarkably increase loading time. I am making thousands of wordpress sites for years and this is from my experience. There are many more causes which slows down loading. You can pm me if you need any other help. You are always welcome.

    Thanks

As mentioned, talking to your hosting support would be a good idea.
Two simple things to try would be to disable all plugins and test. If that makes a difference, enable the plugins one at a time and test each. You could also try changing themes temporarily and test. One last thing to try is to implement a caching plugin like WP Super Cache or my fav W3 Total Cache.
