How much do you rely on WarriorForum?

Please read everything I'm about to say...

Ok...

First off, let me ask you a simple question: If the worst happened, this forum closed down at midnight tonight (it's not going to, but just for the sake of discussion)... what would happen to your income?

Would it be unmoved? dented? or completely wiped out?

The reason I ask is because the greatest lesson I learned from here is that you should never put all your eggs in one basket.

Yes, I can easily earn $3,000-$5,000 a month (sometimes a week) JUST by running WSOs. However I also earn around $10,000-$12,000 in my other online ventures.

Sure, if the forum ended tonight.. my income would be dented, but I'd still survive. Well. And I'd go away knowing that I have already been applying the lessons I have learned here, successfully.

This is not a forum bashing post! I owe everything to the forum.. it has made me what I am today. However, thanks to the forum, I now make most of my success AWAY from here. It feels like I was born here.. grew up here and then made a name for myself out in the big bad world. Sure, I come home from time to time to see how the family is, but I get the biggest kick out of applying the lessons I have learned... and applying them, all over the web.

How about you?

Are you one of these members I see here simply posting WSOs and relying on that as an income?

Or

Are you someone who actually READS and then TAKES ACTION on what they learn here and apply these lessons in many different ways?

I think there is a MASSIVE difference.

You know what? The same thought process should go into ANYTHING you do to make money. I have so many people coming to me for help, because for one reason or another, their income has dried up and they are out of money WAITING for things to pick up. You should never let that happen to you.

It's a piece of cake to make money on this forum. Allen has got a wonderful platform here - but this is just ONE place to make money. Where else do you make money? If you don't already have many income streams.. you need to start NOW!

I hope this thread takes off with everyone writing what they have learned from this forum and how they apply it to their online businesses. It could be the greatest and most inspiring thread of all time!

So.. care to share any inspiring or helpful stories? How do you make money.. perhaps we can all help each other.

Good point you are making here. If you are in the Internet marketing niche then this forum is one of the best places to get targeted traffic from if you know how to do it of course.

With that being said, yes it's very important to diversify your traffic sources and to not ONLY rely on one source such as this forum.

    Cheers

Some of my income would be affected, but not all.

There was a time, a few months back, when the forum went down twice, I believe it was, in a week, for most of the day.

Yes, I remember those days. It's what made me think about it a bit more (I was relying too much on this forum alone)

It would increase because I'd spend less time here and (probably) do more work. I'd be bored, though.

I don't really make money here (or try to), so far. Actually, that's not quite true: I've found a few writing clients (a long time ago) and sold a couple of domain-names (recently), but that's all.

    This is true.

I try not to be too dependent on any one third-party service.

I could survive the disappearance of Google or Ezine Articles or Hostgator, but the disappearance of Clickbank would, I admit, be pretty inconvenient for me. And Aweber the same, really. It would take me a month or two before I'd be earning much, if either of those folded up.

Ooo, I get more bored when Im not working. That's the thing.. most of my income streams are automatic (or at least 90% auto)... so I'm always looking for more challenges

So you do most of your earning as an affiliate to a list.?

I have stuff like Wordpress and AdWords on my list of "stuff to look at and try to cope with"; that's challenging enough for me, for the moment!

Yes, almost all of it. 9 different niche sites (about 16/17 products at the moment), 8 different lists.

A great example right there of not putting all eggs in one basket. If one of your niches dried up or you went a bit over kill on one of your lists and the worst happened (and everyone from one of your lists unsubscribed).. you would learn your lesson and STILL have different niches, many products and 7 lists left.

Hopefully others will be inspired by that.

It depends on what you are selling. If you are an affiliate then a good way to go is to build a niche blog and do SEO, PPC, Media buys etc.

If you have your own product I believe JV's is a great way to go. I heard Frank Kern say the other day that all he does is JV's. He doesn't even know how to optimize a site for SEO.

I love Free traffic from the search engines but I am alos a huge fan of paid traffic. Paid traffic is instant, you can control it better and it's more reliable in my opinion.

          Cheers

To be fair.. I'm not the biggest SEOer either. The good thing about JVs is that assuming you have good partnerships, there will always be opportunities for JVs.

You see, I've been pretty clever recently. I have been able to offer MASSIVE returns for people if they become my affiliate for a social networking site I have launched. It only started around 7 days ago and its already getting 1,000+ UNIQUE hits per day.

So there's another way to get traffic: LEVERAGE.

My first thought was that if this forum disappeared at midnight, it would not affect my income at all.

That would not be entirely true.

Saying that my income would not be directly affected would be closer to the truth.

With the exception of one 4-day sale earlier this year when I needed to raise some cash after losing an argument with the IRS, I've never sold anything here. So I would not be losing a sales channel.

I do spend a pretty fair amount of time here, answering questions and offering advice and opinions. Partly for the satisfaction. Partly for the ego stroke. (Yes, I admit I like it when people tell me I helped them and I like it when there are 'thanks' after a good post.) Mostly, though, doing what I do here helps me stay on top of my game, learning from other bright people and passing on what I've learned in a tangible form.

So, while I don't rely on the Warrior Forum directly for income, I do rely on this community to help me stay focused, connected and up to date.

Hey John.. may I ask what it is you do do for income? do you rely on this forum for traffic to a site? or do you provide a service that people find you through here?

                Thanks for the input

I'm not going to put an up to date resume on a public forum like like this, but I can tell you that I don't rely on the forum for traffic nor do I use the forum to generate leads for a service.

                  At least, I haven't yet...

They say you should sell to desperate buyers, but I prefer to serve obsessed ones. Whether that's recommending a product or providing it myself, obsessed buyers (once you earn their loyalty) come back again and again.

A desperate buyer can be an easy sale, but once the desperation is gone, many times so is the motivation to repeat a purchase.

If you solve someone's embarrassing medical condition, why would they buy another solution from you?

On the other hand, have you met a serious hobbyist who doesn't own multiple pieces of equipment, a library of how-to info, and supplies up the wazoo? Yet they continue to buy all three...so I sell them all three, and anything else I can logically connect.

This forum can literally launch your business.

It doesn't mean you have to rely on it totally. Many have created businesses starting with this forum.

Look at it this way... You can build customers lists that can be sold to many times and an affiliate base that will continue making you sales.

If you use this forum wisely, you won't really need it once you get going.

I haven't run any WSOs in almost 4 years on here, so that wouldn't be an issue for me personally.

If I'm being honest though, I have gained a lot of critical information from this forum - how much it has impacted my income though is hard to say.

And despite what some people say about WSOs, there is a lot of gold on the WSO forum being sold for a pittance by some very talented, creative marketers.

As a newbie I rely on this forum a lot, it has just saved me $27 by reading the info regarding a product but then again I wouldn't of seen it in the first place lol. If it wasn't for the Warrior Forum I wouldn't of bought my first wso and would probably still be selling stuff on ebay or feebay as some people call it!

I don't rely on WF and already have multiple avenues of income coming in from the internet.

If you're dependent of WF for your lively hood then that IS putting all your eggs in one basket and something you shouldn't rely on.
