When Will Business Pick Up Again?

I was thinking about launching a product in December... do you think that would be a bad time? Do you think my product launch would be more effective if I waited until January... or even February?

James, I had my best month of the year in October and November isn't
going to be much behind it, so I don't know if business needs to be picked
up. Of course everybody is going to have a different perspective on this
based on how well they're doing.

Personally, with Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years coming up, I'd
wait until after the New Year anyway. I think you'll do better than you will
    now.

    Agreed.

Allow yourself the extra month and a half to tweak your copy and improve the product, making it the best it can be so when you do release it after the first of the year, then you will be ready to present it with a bang.

James, in my own experiences, I tend to worry more
about the Summer "Vacation" months of June thru Ausgust,
    at least in the USA.

I think you will do just fine December, unless your product is seasonal.
Just my 2 cents as to timing a product.

My experience is that if people really want the product - and you can get in front of enough of them - it won't matter when you launch. If you truly match the product to the market they will buy.

Having said that... if you are doing a single product launch and are not planning to do any immediate follow-up sales campaigns in the subsequent months, then waiting until after the New Year makes sense.

    James,

Don't let the reason downturn in the economy scare you from launching your own product
. I believe that if you get it in front of the right people, then they will gladly pull out their wallets for you.

They are predicting this recession to last into 2010. I am sure you would not want to wait that long. So you might as well just start now and let more people find you once the economy gets better.

Well I'm not, Jazzy -- I'm quite confident it's going to last into 2015.

And to the rest of you: Thanks so much for your replies.

Yeah I agree with careygee, the summer is usually the slowdown because people are going on vacation and things like, but in this case a lot of people are indoors and thus online.

If everything is ready to go, Go for it!

I have read other places that actually business is up right now regardless of the economy or season. If you are launching what people want they will buy!! I did!

    James,

Launch when YOU feel you are ready. I suggest sooner rather than later.

    Hope that helps
