Squeeze Pages - Not Sure I Understand

Hi Guys,

I am about to launch my 3rd blog - the blog will contain a product I have written myself (eBook).

I have a couple things I'm not sure I understand about using a squeeze page.

  1. Should the video on my squeeze be promoting my free product or the product I intend to sell?
  2. I have written several articles for my blog, but if they are going to be hidden behind the squeeze page how on earth can I optimize the content to get my page up the search engines if all the content is hidden behind a squeeze page?

I guess my confusion is the structure of the site - should my squeeze page be the fist page into my blog, or should the thank you page (on subscribe) actually simply be my sales page? If so - if all my keywords are on the sales page, how can I use SEO on my site if all that stuff is hidden until someone signs up (wont the thanks page rank above the squeeze page?) ?

Perhaps i have mis understood this - do i even need a blog if i am using a squeeze page into sales page?

In my opinion your squeeze page should be linked to FROM your blog, let the blog do it's work and place strategic links and mentions about your squeeze page and link to it.

You could offer free chapters for example if they optin to your squeeze page. You could also create a text squeeze page as well to split test video and/or text options.

You can then also use your squeeze pages outside of your blog for marketing.

If you don't have a squeeze page already or want to try another use the links in my signature as we also offer fully hosted squeeze and video page services along with list building and marketing tools.

Thanks - I will check out your links!!

So let's say I have a blog that has popup domination on it - it collects emails in return for a free ebook.

Let's say I also have a more indepth ebook related to the first that I want to sell - so I can use the autoresponders from the email I gathered with pop dom.

OR should I turn of pop dom and instead set up a squeeze page and funnel the traffic through to that?

I was hoping that the squeeze page could be used more as a sales tool... Perhaps I would be better sticking with POP DOM and then just doing a video sales page instead (linked to from the site but also pointed to from my autoresponders!)

      What do you think?

Hi! I for one would have on my website a sales page and a squeeze page. In each page would be the videos promoting the paid product (video on the sales page) and the free product (on squeeze page). Then, I'd mention the paid product in the free product whenever it is necessary to let my target customers know my paid product offers relevant benefits not found on the free product, of course without saying it in this rather straightforward way.

    Nice website...cool niche.

About your opt-in. "Subscribe to model railroad for this FREE report". I dunno. For me, this sounds like "Give me something (your e-mail) and then I'll give you something back". Personally, I'd be more casual about it...like I have something THEY want. You know what I mean?

All that being said, I don't know what you're opt-in rate is like. But it might be worth testing.

There is an old saying that money is in the list.

Yeah I believe in that term!

But anyway, Im just new to squeeze page or lead capture page. I just made my first free lead capture page using freeautobot

It's free and the downside is they got a lot of annoying pop-ups. And your prospect might mislead to path.

But it's free to use and you can send them some follow ups.

I would recommend that you test various formats and track the results. Whichever one yields the best results just use that method.

A lot of different answers here so all I'm going to say is that the majority of people find blogs and websites from other pages on the site other than the home page. Don't assume that every visitor to your site is coming in through the front door.

Each article/blog post has it's own merits for getting indexed in the search engines and I suggest you treat each post and article like that. It's the same as when you build backlinks to your website. You want to build backlinks to every page, not just your home page.
