Free Web Hosting for Membership Site? How to Protect My Interest?

I am about to launch my membership site very soon and recently have purchased web hosting reseller's plan. My initial idea was to provide web hosting for my members at a very low price of $4.95/mo.

However, I thought of a better way to entice users to join my site as member. That is to provide FREE hosting for members only. The challenge I face now is 'what if they quit half way through the program' (my program last 6 months).

Also what features should I include in the package? Should I give free for 6 months and $4.95/mo thereafter? Should I give free for a year and $4.95/mo thereafter or should i go completely free as long as they stay as members?

Anyone can give me an idea?

Bottomline is, I want to provide an additional service (web hosting) but at the same time protect my interest (people took up the free hosting and quit).

    I would just provide it free if you're only goingto charge $4.95.... I don't know how much the mebership would be, but I have to think that there's room for $5 in your profit per member.

    Thanks ArticlePrince. I am also thinking of another option, which is to allow them to keep the free hosting even if they return for a guarantee. But instead of free for life, I will just provide free for one year.

    If you're offering free hosting for members only, and they quit after a month, they are then no longer a member. I suggest you keep it simple. Members get hosting free - non members pay!

    Look at the prices some of the more well known hosts (i.e. BlueHost, JustHost, HostGator, etc) are charging. They'll charge like $3.95 for an account, but you need to pay 1-3 yrs in advance. Why not offer them the first year free, with renewal at like $49/yr?
