My First Post Here... Did I Miss The Bus?

OK, so I have been looking to get started in affiliate marketing for like 3 months now. But now I see the FTC want to "do not track" people, so does that mean I won't be able to do affiliate marketing or something?

Am I asking this right?

There's nothing stopping you starting with affiliate marketing.

There are also plenty of other methods you can use to earn online once you have a better idea so just get stuck in.

Don't let things like this get in the way. You'll find that you will bump into several obstacles, but you'll also learn how to overcome them.

This is a great time to get into affiliate marketing. Just do it and don't worry about the obstacles that may get in the way from time to time...

That will effect companies that mine for data and use that data as part of their business model. We don't do that as an affiliate marketer. One income stream is to build a list while selling the product. That is with permission of the customer. Different scenario.

try to create your first campaign, there's certainly interesting stuff to read on forums every day and you hear inspiring stories; keep in mind you need to take action to achieve what others are talking about
I'd start with learning how to track your conversions, setting up your domain/landingPage, learn how to rotate offers, etc

Correct me if im wrong...but that is talking more about cookies right? Its not so much if someone reads an article and clicks on an affiliate link right? So unless your business revolves around cookies or cs then i dont see the big issue. Maybe a bit with auto targeting ads and ad rotations...but in general i dont think it will be an issue.

Don't let the FTC stop you from getting in affiliate marketing. Even if that does pass, which I don't see how it could possibly pass with congress involved now, it won't be enacted for months, if not years.

So there's plenty of money to be made before anything happens.

    Good luck on your venture
