I haven't yet. But I was playing Angry Birds and I ran across an ad for a merchant account and got approved the next day and am accepting credit cards now.

Not yet but only because I typically like to do more research about stuff I buy online than the screen on my BB or iPhone is able to accommodate comfortably.

No. I only do research. It's a pain to type all my billing details on an iPhone.

However, I sometimes want to watch sales page videos and can't...which kills any shot at a sale later on my PC.

Here's an interesting statistic about mobile behaviour.

Top four uses of Mobile behavior (1) To compare prices (2) View info on phone (3) Find a store (4) Coupons

Compare prices is at number one so my common sense tell me that I need to target smart phones as well with my review sites but it seems like I wont be making many sales as people will just go to their PC's to make the purchase.

This will probably change in the near future as mobile technology develops. This is going to be a crazy next few years in our industry. I cant wait!

I buy stuff from Amazon on my iPhone with their app.

It's waaaaaaaaaaaay too easy to buy stuff with their "one-click" ordering

I dont buy stuff from general mobile browser surfing but I have bought a few things with purpose built apps like the Amazon and eBay ones.

I think the fact its such a small screen and harder to navigate means that wouldnt change - I think Apps are the way forward for mobile purchasing.

In fact, how longer before (or perhaps it already exists) an app comes out that allows you to create a secure account that holds your details that then lets you checkout on any website through your smart phone with one or two clicks?

No I would never buy anything from my mobile phone. It seems less encrypted or something to be over a public WiFi or a 3G network to put your credit card info in there. Maybe I'm just too paranoid. I'll put on my tin foil hat and talk to the aliens about it first before I do.

Actually Jennifer, a 3G signal is always encrypted, whereas a public WiFi connection with no password isn't, so there's definitely a distinction between the two.

You may be a little confused here, as voice is different/separate from the data spectrum of 3G. The data transmitted and received over 3G is definitely encrypted.

Ah okay. Then you definitely have a further grasp on it than I do. I just know that people can intercept your phone calls and listen in. But if the data is encrypted then that seems secure. But I still wouldn't make a purchase over public WiFi.

Definitely, since public WiFi is not the same as 3G. Public WiFi with no password is not encrypted, so data going back and forth can be easily intercepted by anyone within range, so be very careful of what you do when on public WiFi!

With the old analog phones you could listen in. I don't think any company in the US supports them anymore, though.

With current phones, the conversation is digital and encrypted and very difficult to crack.

Digital downloads and books. Never big items. But as the apps become better on doing it, purchasing it will get bigger. I think like buying stuff on our home computers was very small percentage a few years ago, cyber Monday will eventually will become phone day as we get more comfortable doing it and all companies shut down work access.
