Hi Guys,

Currently i have a get response account which i am using for my email marketing.

just wondering though.

do you guys input your real residential address attached with every email which you send out to your subscribers?

Will it be a good practice to be letting your subscribers know your real residential address?

Need your input on this guys.

Thanks !

  • My business address is a UPS Store box, even though I have an office. It's just easier to get things delivered there instead of tracking packages around since it's right down the road. We use that address for our autoresponder address.

I never put my physical address why would it be necessary? A website address is all that's needed they already have your email. If you're receiving physical correspondence than get a box.

      As per the CAN-SPAM act:

"Your message must include your valid physical postal address. This can be your current street address, a post office box you’ve registered with the U.S. Postal Service, or a private mailbox you’ve registered with a commercial mail receiving agency established under Postal Service regulations."

If you're not in the US, I can't speculate as to how that would affect you, but for people in the US, they have to provide a physical address.

Huh, I thought Get Response required that you put a physical address in every time? guess I was wrong, but I would suggest setting up a cheap P.O. BOX number. It looks professional, and you won't feel so "naked" or like your residential privacy is being violated.

As long as you aren't doing anything shady and you're giving your list value, I don't see a problem using your actual address. However, I personally us my post office box address for my emails just because i'm never in a spot for more than a few months. for instance, right now I'm in costa rica which makes it really hard to use an address since we don't really have them here.

I am just feeling uneasy revealing my physical address .

I mean, who knows some nutters get a hold of my physical address and comes barging into my place for some unnecessary trouble.

We live in a crazy world ya know.
