Can You Get Software Programmed/Developed For Free?

I am looking to make a program or software (dont no the difference), to use as either a subscriber magnet or to give away for free.

Anyways I do not have any money to spare so do you know anyone that will do it for free or know of any helpful guides?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Best advice is to pickup a PHP programming guide to get you started. You could teach yourself what you want to accomplish

Why not partner with a business-savvy developer? They get a cut of the ongoing profits when the product is launched. That way, you have no upfront costs.

However, this will only work if you can convince a developer that your idea is doable in a reasonable time, has a ready market and a rock-solid business plan.

Sure it will cost you more in the long run but a smaller percentage of something is better than 100% of nothing.

    Cheers,

I think it would be hard to get someone to do it for free. If you have any friends that are able to program you can ask them.

The only other way would be to learn programming yourself. It's not too hard. I'd recommend to go with python and the Qt bindings.

That way you can create powerful applications with an easy language.

The program is free so you don't have to mind bugs too much.

Hi! Would you spend time doing something you do best which a lot of other people cannot do on their own for a business aiming to use what you're working on as a means to generate more income for their own, without any sort of benefit for yourself? Doubt it.

There are a lot of free open source scripts. My suggestion is for you to list down the benefits your software should provide your target audience. Then, analyze how those benefits can be done by software. At this point, run down how a user will use the software, from start to finish, while also analyzing how the software can deliver those benefits. Afterwards, search on the Internet for free scripts which can accomplish the automated tasks you need done by your software. Finally, read about the programming languages used to develop the open source scripts you can use for your software and focus on the modifications/tweaks you need to do in terms of functionality. I'm referring to searching for useful information which exactly guides you in programming certain functionalities which you need for your software.

While you can't really get software developed for free unless you have a very generous friend, you can exchange your services for someone else's.

What services can you provide? Article writing and content editing are some examples. Then maybe you could trade your services for the services of a programmer.
Also you could look at places like Fiverr.com, where you can get some jobs done for just $5.. it's not free, but it's cheap.

No guarantees on the quality though for sites like that...

I agree with Devid, what do you have to Barter? Maybe you have a service worth something to a developer? Maybe you have List big enough to make it worthwhile for him/her to JV with you? Web Skills? Designer Skills? Copy writing Skills? ... Anything?

If you can't afford to outsource it and don't want to DIY, then you can always buy software with private label rights or master resale rights for pretty cheap. Master-Resale-Rights.com has a pretty big selection. Just be careful if you go that route, because the quality of software sold on those types of sites can vary wildly.

I would suggest that you learn some programming yourself, it's not hard at all. I've learned programming all by myself, and I'm currently pretty much fluent in php, ruby, java, c# and some other languages. I run my own IT-consulting firm and I'm also the CTO for a startup - and the funny thing is that I majored in accounting in college - so I haven't got a technical background at all.

Just decide what you want to build and what tool to use. I'd suggest that you identify a well-defined project you'd like to do, do it in PHP (most web platforms are written in PHP) and then just start. As soon as you get stuck, google for an answer. This is how I've taught myself a bunch of languages. You don't have to buy a boring programming book, everything's freely available online. Just get started! Good luck!
