Brilliant new tool that I came across yesterday and it's free - Nudgemail

I know this is completely off topic but I found this yesterday from mega-blogger Chris Brogan and it's just so good that I thought you might want to hear about it.

Have a look at Chris's review here - Nudgemail Review

And have a look at their 'How To' here - Nudgemail How To

Basically it allows you set a reminder that will be emailed back t you at any point in the future that you decide.

Not to be used as a complete To Do List but for vital things you just don't want to forget when you're busy.

Thanks for the share thats pretty neat. A couple of years ago I had a PHP script that I found on the Internet it was free it was something similar to that. Basically you just installed it on your site and then if a visitor to your site wanting to, they could just type in their e-mail address and they get a one-time reminder.

I like the idea but I just wonder if spammers could take advantage of it. By that I mean that they could just type in any e-mail address that they had scraped off the Internet.

I've never heard of it, but I can definitely see the beneficial uses for this thing. I usually end up hitting the "dismiss all" button on the Outlook notifications without even reading them. But having to actual open and close an email would probably make me more inclined to completing the task.

    Thanks

Thanks for sharing this, Ian. I can see this becoming a big hit especially since people are becoming increasingly more connected to the internet (24/7 in many cases) through their smartphones, and this would be a great way to remind themselves of important appointments and to-do lists. Smartphones typically prioritize email notifications, and so they're harder to miss than other types of alerts that are shown.

  • For a lot of my tasks, I just use Gmail to email myself a reminder in the future - this looks about the same.

    It's a good idea though.
