Would You Ever Spin An Article As A Guest Post?

I am serious. Would you take an article you found on the web, spin it to make it unique and submit it to a site as a guest post?

    I most certainly would if I didnt want to ever be a guest poster again. Smart bloggers run their content through duplicate content checkers. Why mess up a relationship before it even starts.

    Guest posting is kind of an honor. So create unique content. You can repurpose old content but I wouldnt spin it. Worst case I would take some stellar content and hire an article writer to rewrite it and see how it came out. But my advice would be to sit down and grind out new/fresh content.

      Not exactly. When you rewrite an article, it means you are replacing words with their synonyms. If you use automatic spinners, all you get is junk which are mostly not readable. If you use manual content spinners like TBS or SC, then you may get away with copyscape. But then again, its like writing a new article and sometimes it can even take longer

      Spinning generally refers to using some sort of automation to make an article unique. So no spinning is not "really" rewriting.

      Also rewriting content to use as a guest post would be disingenuous at best, if you have the "honor" of being a guest poster you should write a total unique article from scratch.

    Nope. Links on good blogs are valuable. If the blog you are submitting a guest post on isnt good enough for you to give it your time, then you are targeting the wrong blogs to guest post to... If it is a good blog, then why would you waste their time with crap content.

    I wouldn't ever do that. I look at guest posting as connecting with another site's audience. That is a little hard to do if you try to make a catch all article and republish it.

    Okay thanks for your responses. Also would it be bad if you use one of your old posts and like some1 mentioned above rewrite it a bit maybe add some more stuff?

      At least you would be using content you wrote, I would say this is OK. although I would try and target it to the reader of the blog I am guest posting for, and definitely add some new content.

    I wouldn't allow it on my blog so I wouldn't do it to someone else. Just about every blogger I've seen that accepts guest blogs requires the content to be unique and exclusive to their blog.

      That makes sense. You already know enough to write a decent length article. And it is way more work spinning one and then trying to edit it so that is ounds like you know what you are talking about.

    No spinning is taking synonyms for words and swapping them out (usually with a thesaurus) or changing how something is said.

    Rewriting is completely rewriting the article using the information. Sort of how you do research. Look at several information sources and pull from it. At least that is how Im talking about rewriting. If another person rewrites it it comes from another perspective...if they do it right.

    Nope. I figure guest posts are my way of creating a reputation and relationship with a blog owner. I want to create a good impression, so the only material I'd submit as a guest post is something I'd be happy to put on my own site. That's well researched, well written, unique content.

    Some have tried this on my sites.. it will end in tears for you.

    They submit spun articles hoping it will pass, but I add their name, website and IP to a blacklist - and I share it with other webmasters who accept guest posts, like other webmasters share their backlists with me.

    Submit spun articles to serious sites and you'll only damage your reputation (forever) and will be refused from a wide network of sites because those of us who allow people to post on our sites do talk to each other and help each other keep our sites clean.

    If you can't create one article that contains your own thoughts and opinions about a particular subject, then your value as a guest poster is zero. Just my opinion.

    While I use spun articles a lot for building backlinks and traffic to my sites, I would never submit a spun article as a guest post. At the worst I would completely rewrite the article or just use ideas from one of my previous articles in a situatuation like that.

    Best thing is just to write an article for scratch for this purpose.

    Use the article, a PLR article, or other content to inspire your thinking, then close all of them and just put your fingers on the keyboard and start typing.

    An original blog post after a tiny bit of research should only take a few minutes. Setting up to spin a single article will take almost as long, and creates ill will all around.

      As it happened to me several times - reading a couple of articles on the blog i wish to guest post to, reading some articles on topic, realizing i'm quite able now to analyze the facts and then taking one small idea out of the mess in my head and developing it in mind and doing more research.
      As for me - i also get inspired by images. So sometimes I have a look at google image search result page) Visualizing helps see the message of the future article.

    I'd never do it. I cringe whenever I see obviously spun posts on a blog, and I'd never subject someone else to that same kind of drivel by doing the same. I'd say that 99.9% of the time it does not add any value at all to the blog, and so I don't see the point in doing this when I could just take a few minutes to write something that would benefit the readers of whatever blog I'm posting on.

    Nope.

    The amount of time and energy spent trying to rebuild a lost reputation isn't worth it. If your spun article looks too much like something you've already published you will be exposed. I've seen more than one blogger call out guest posters on this and it wasn't pretty.

    For each blog post you write - guest or otherwise - sit at a computer and type away. Make each piece of content unique and you will tend to generate more interest.

    If it a true guest post and not just an article directory, then you need to build up your reputation in the community by doing a new article or a very good, full rewrite.

    I've found each time I write on the same topic, I add a little more, change the order of the subtopics and usually produce a better product each time.
