Luckily that was from the 17th July..

I just found this image on my desktop.. thought I'd post it now, since we have images

Today USD = about 0.87
Which is a LOT better..

I remember when it was 0.51

Man those were the days, every $10.000 USD check I deposited ended up close to $19,000 Aussie bucks.. ( I remember those days of having to deposit checks ((everything is electronic now)), the girls at the bank would smile and pull me from the back on the line every time. They couldn't believe this dude rocking up with big Checks every week all the way from the USA LOL)

So when I transferred that money above from paypal to my bank account, man.. It was a Very Sad Site... 1 to 1

Hopefully you guys in the US will get your act together and improve your economy so I can make a ton more cash like the good ol days :p

Hehe, I feel you pain Pete! The reverse was also true. Any products bought in U.S dollars cost the price of a small car.

  I am actually a little peeved at the downturn.
  
  I am travelling to the US in december. Back in July, I help off buying US currency because the analysts said then that it was still on the way up. A month later and the rate has plummeted.

  for the last 12 months work, I paid my (removed) for a trip to the US for himself and family..
  
  Luckily I paid for these at about the same time I took that image above..
  
  Had a meeting with him last night, and he's peeved that his spending over there is now going to cost him 20% more..

  Back five years ago, I was sent to the US under a secondment by the company I was working for at the time. I managed to negotiate a pretty sweet deal where I would be able to save a reasonable amount of money.
  
  When I left Australia, the rate was around the .60 mark. Two and a half years later the rate was getting into the mid eighties.
  
  So instead of bringing it all back home, I did a six week road trip travelling over 9000 miles with a friend and blew $6K.
