Payment Processing Help: Setting up a credits/points style system

I'm looking for a payment processor, or more information on a way of processing this through Paypal.

I'm setting up a site that sells files for a fixed price. Every file will be the same price, and a certain percentage of each sale will go to certain people. (For instance, every sale being $5, $2 would go to the creator of that particular file, $1 to the webmaster, $1 to the editor, $1 to the admin.)

Ideally, I want it set up kind of like Kiva and other sites where the customer purchases, say, $20 worth of credits for the site and then chooses which files to download with that credit. This eliminates the hassle of splitting up many tiny payments, and people could be paid once or twice a month. I'd also like a donation system where people can tip a creator if they really liked that file.

Can I do this through Paypal's IPN system, and if so, any links to resources on where to begin learning about IPN for a HTML/somewhat CSS-wise, but otherwise coding-illiterate, newbie?

If not, any ideas on how to structure the payment so it's as hassle-free as possible?

Thanks so much, as always.
