PROOF! YouTube testing allowing external links within videos

I was doing video annotations on YouTube today when I was given the opportunity to include a link to an external site or URL in the video.

Has anyone else seen this?

    No, you can't do for external sites. You can place other youtube videos links in annotations.

      No, that was the old days. Right now they are TESTING out allowing external links to OTHER Non-YouTUBE sites:

    I don't understand why they would do that - I think it highly unlikely it would be a feature released to the general Youtube user. All it would do is greatly increase the amount of rubbish that gets posted on Youtube.

    If you are a Youtube Partner you can already put banners and direct links to your site on your channel. It's not needed in the video. I'm suprised they still let us use links in our descriptions.

    I ad my money site url in my videos ALL THE TIME in the annotations..Now its not clickable but its there for all to see. I also put my URL in the title with Keywords so when you do a search on google almost all the time my video shows up on page 1 * 2. Then I post it to TubeMogul and more places now pick up the same video. I just change the keyword a bit in the title but keep the URL. So to say its new im not sure but I do it all the time.
