Keeping that "first sale" feeling fresh..

Every body remembers their first sale on the internet...

And if you don't have one yet, read on.

You look at your account expecting there to be zeros again because that's what you've gotten used to.

Same old thing, same old devastating feeling of disappointment.

But this day, you look at it, and there are numbers there! What? Holy crap! I got a sale! I got a sale!

You couldn't feel more enthusiastic and excited about it so you jump around the house like a happy puppy and somehow all that work was worth it.

We all know that momentum helps us achieve our goals, and thankfulness keeps us humble

So do yourself a favor, when you look at your sales today, scream "YES, I GOT A SALE! I GOT A SALE!!" and do a happy dance.

Rather, meditate on the misery and abject failure you once wallowed in then look at those sales

I love checking my sales stats...

Actually I do it TOO much Maybe that's why I don't get much work done

Stats are an addictive distraction! Ok... off to check my stats....

I know what you mean, in the beginning I pretty much kept refreshing my stats and checking for sales maybe half the day or even longer!

Needless to say, this is a very unproductive and nonsensical exercise, and after a few months I slowly snapped out of it. I still occasionally get the urge to do this particularly when I'm bored, but it's now just a very rare occurrence for me.

First sale is always special. It gives you motivation, tells you that you are on right track and soon you will receive your first check.
