I believe the lads at marketing forum with the the infamous dkRoll will appreciate the content.

AS usual, getting links is where it's at, signature links like you made here, but in a matching social forum wold be helpful.

Went to your site and read it. What kind of "more participation" are you looking for? More sign ups? Comments? Ad clicks? FB Likes? Social bookmarks? Twits?

The traffic you're attracting, based on the type of content you provide on your site, wouldn't most likely post more comments nor lengthy comments which could possibly start full fledged discussions. Rather, they'd either read and have a good laugh, or post comments like "That's hilarious! Wouldn't want to imagine I could be placed in a similar situation..." among other one or two-liner comments which wouldn't most likely be able to solicit more comments from other viewers. I don't think they're the "ad clicking", "mailing list signing" crowd, either. They're possibly more of the "FB-Liking", "social bookmarking" crowd.

Don't think you have target keywords? I believe the only way to get "more participation" in a micro niche like this would be to increase the traffic you get, making it a directly proportional thing, like more traffic = more possible participation, since there are more participants.

Have you tried writing longer posts about keywords which get high search volume then slanting the tone and style of the content to match your micro niche? Then, perhaps you could try making your social bookmark and FB Like links among others such as your signup box more visible? You could also try posting your own funny videos on your site and submitting a few ones to YouTube, or perhaps scrape funny videos from YouTube on your site?

The thing I'm thinking about is moneytization. If they aren't the "ad clicking", "mailing list signing" and "product/service buying" crowd, I guess selling your own ebooks or affiliate digital products in the comedy niche as well as private ad space rentals would require a good volume of traffic for the site to be profitable for you. These are just my opinions though.

Thanks for the tips. Yeah I plan on doing and selling a couple of ebooks in the future. Although it's a field I have little experience in.

First off all you have to analyze where your traffic is coming from. Is it targeted traffic or just random traffic. that could be one of the problems.

The second problem can be the layout and information your website provides.
The layout seems basic and studies show that people love nice and stylish layouts. your website looks like the thousands others on the Internet.

Do you have any goal for your visitors ? what do you want them to do when land on your site ? what call to action did you define ?

I recommend you study a little bit about Copywriting, the best you can read is Dan Kennedy`s Ultimate Sales Letters.

    Best Regards,

You are not alone. It's notoriously hard to get people to comment, they have to realy, really be passionate about what you have to say before they will comment.

I would suggest that you move your blog off blogger onto your own domain so that you have more of a say on what you have on your blog.

Problem with hosted blogs like blogger and the hosted version of word press is that they can't allow the adding of scripts and code because of server security issues. As soon as you run your own blog you can do what you like.

I would recommend you move to your own domain and install word press, then you can add more features and tools to enable the interaction you want.

You could then add tools such as the ones available via links in my signature.

How much traffic do you get on a daily basis?
