hi,

i'm working with a number of companies who are willing to take lower than the average comissions as we have agreements in place for what's in the ebook.

My quesiton is, if you start launching a product with such a company with a low comission which then get popular, but then affiliates see that the comission is lower than average, how do you get around this?

Seems like a double edge sword!

If i'm to put two version on clickbank then the higher comisison rated version won't be up in the rankings high enough for affiliates to see, is that right?

Regards

This may be a silly reply - could you use Clickbank for the higher commission rate and somewhere else, say ejunkie, for the companies you are working with on a lower commission rate?

Edit: I think you can make your ejunkie affiliate program private, so only agreed affiliates join. Then use CB for your public affiliate program.

yes i did think this, but i will poentially get a lot of traffic from this from the lower comission rate, so thought it would really boost its popularity

You say "high enough in the rankings", but people looking through the Clickbank marketplace can sort/rank products by numerous different criteria.

If an affiliate looking for products sorts them on an "earnings per sale" (as I would) or "percentage per sale" basis, your product should be seen just fine.

If sorting by "gravity" that's a whole different thing, but I don't see how that's any more of an issue for you than it is anyone else who has just freshly listed a product on Clickbank, since the gravity is always going to start off low - unless you manipulate the figure, of course, by buying your own product (or having other people do it for you) through multiple Clickbank accounts, or are proactive in recruiting some affiliates yourself to get the ball rolling.

Ah ok, so say i potentially say got 500 sales in a very short period of time on a lower comission rate, i should still just list another version with a high comission rate? It won't really matter. Is that what you mean?

I am just going to say that affiliates goes for the money, so if it is a low commission product why would they promote it?

    OP:

If you've recruited those "lower commission-rate" affiliates directly (through other channels), why would you even need that "version" of your product listed in the marketplace? Set up a separate Clickbank account for that product, and ask Clickbank to remove the marketplace listing (which I believe is a request they're willing to fulfill), so it's not advertised publicly, and hoplinks cannot be generated for anyone other than those affiliates with whom you've struck a tailor-made agreement.

If you don't want other affiliates to promote the product with the lower commissions (which not too many would anyway, I suspect, if it's that low), then you don't want to advertise it to them at all, surely?

Simply list the higher/regular commission-rate "version" of your product in the Clickbank marketplace, and that will be the one open to the public, that you want everyone else to be promoting.

If you're concerned about a new product's low gravity score being an affiliate turn-off, then spend a little time enticing/recruiting some affiliates to promote the product for you, and when they each make a sale, your gravity score will rise, thus making that product appear more "attractive" to those affiliates for whom a "reasonable" gravity score forms a part their product-selection criteria.

But as I say, this isn't a problem unique to your situation: every new Clickbank product would start life with a low gravity score, if not for some vendors taking steps to artificially inflate theirs when listing/launching their products.

thanks for this. my thought was, that i could somehow get the ranking up based on the sales of the lower comission, but obviously not. i will probably e-junkie the lower comission and clickbank the full one. thanks
