Blog, Website or Both

Am looking for some advice that looks to be unusual as I can't find anything like it anywhere.
I have a website Pregnancy and Childbirth that I purchased just the way you see it last winter and it has done absolutely nothing except for the blog which has over 100 comments.
How can I monetize the blog effectively and should I break it away from the website and promote it by itself?
And if I break off the blog do I do it using my ftp client or my host control panel?

    I would look at BabyCenter.com and use their model.

    They get you to put in your due date and then send you weekly emails based on that. (for example..."This week your baby has developed teeth, or has a heartbeat...by the way, did you know you should buy this baby swing I have an affiliate link for???")

    It's a glorified aweber campaign, and for YEARS you have information to offer users.

    If you want to be lazy, sign up there and say you're due in 9 months, and you'll get all their emails (one week at a time)

    Hmm. Your blog is receiving more traffic than the main page?

    Personally, I would just go with the blog. But in this case, you might want to stick with the main page as well. You should make the blog more easily accessible on the main site.

    OK, i'm a total newbie so this is just my initial impression on looking at the website, I may be wrong: Firstly it comes across as a hard-sell page rather than a page about pregnancy. It uses pretty forthright selling language "Everything you wanted to know but never Dared to ask..". this type of language creates urgency, great for business/money making type products where people come looking quick solutions, but may be a turn off to pregnant women? You have to bait the hook to catch the fish - perhaps warmer, more comforting language might draw them in.

    Also, wouldn't it sound better calling it a 'free guidebook' rather than 'free report'. Again, very formal and businesslike for pregnant women IMO.

    Just my humble opinion.
