Hi Warriors,

This is a BIG signal that even the brand powerhouses of traditional media "get" the absolute dominance of social media marketing.

P & G powerhouse moves ad money from soap operas to social media scene.

This is also a good article for the Offline Consultants to add to their educational kits for your customers to understand how important it is that they take social media marketing seriously NOW.

Stay Sunny.

Michelle

      Not so fast,

You won't need to friend P & G, they're being way more creative than fanpages.

The Old Spice Social Media Campaign- reinvented the brand with the masive success of their YouTube commercials.

Good out of the box stuff there.

      Stay Sunny,

Some of the Youtube viral commercial videos are hilarious. I've watched a lot of them. A Youtube campaign I can "get" completely. Twitter ... that's a different story.

As noted, it is brand specific and not always the company behind it.

Another factor I've noticed in working with a few bigger clients (I did some sub-contractor work for some through an advertising agency) is their marketing people rarely know anything at all about SEO or social marketing.

For example, one had a big opportunity to go for a funny viral moment but panicked and pulled the video. D'oh!
