Buying Blogspot Blogs?

Hi.

How is it possible to go about buying established Blogger blogs for SEO, if that is allowed or even possible.

Cheers.

Jim.

    Jim,

It's pretty obscure but I have sold Squidoo Lenses...

You pretty much convince the customer to buy, just don't expect to make much.

This is possible if you check, say, the DP forums.

The owner can give you the account details, or they can add you as an administrator and then remove themselves so you're the sole admin of it.

I still wouldn't recommend it, as when you're looking at long-term investments, it's much better to purchase a stand-alone domain than a Blogger site. After all, if it's not your web property, Google could shut down the site you just bought for no apparent reason.

Have you considered buying Wordpress blogs on independent domains? This would do pretty much the same thing.

If its because of its age I woulden´t pay for it? And if its because it has PR then PR is not that impportant anymore, and if it is because of the number of articles (pages) then hire a writer and make it yourself :-).
      But good look from here

Though there are risks as mentioned above but in my experience blogger/blogspot blogs rank faster and rank higher in google. They stay ranked for a long long time & bring constant traffic if you have origianl content.

It is worth the investment if you are getting a good deal interms of a blog which has good traffic & you have a monetization strategy for it.

I've never bought bloggger blogs but I have blogger blogs where i just posted 5 to 10 original articles & these are 4 year old blogs which are still bringing constant traffic. Im sometimes amazed at the power of blogger blogs.

I feel google gives them a bit more weight interms of ranking than standalone domains. this is just my experience.

I remember when I first started in a few days I made a $47 affiliate sale from my blogspot. I find that google sort of patronizes its own blogspot so if you know how to do things right, it is possible to make money and get ranked. Its happened to me before I went on to own domains. I still have income generated through my blogspots, some from adsense only and some from adsense, amazon and affiliate marketing.

I hate to argue with you guys, but the admin to a web 2.0 is worth a few bucks.

I've created Squidoo Lenses and sold them for $5-20 each. Not a profit center by any means, but the 'properties' at various blogs are a commodity.

I was interested not to monetize or receive traffic, just an aged property with many posts for backlinks to other sites. I was thinking it would cost less then buying an established wordpress blog even if not being in total control of it.

Man, I could do a WSo on this...

Sure, build up a so-called 2.0 property like Squidoo or Hubpages or dozens more and sell the admin for a few bucks.

I sold Squidoos for 10-25 each back when everybody was jumping on Squid's...

They're still PR7 or something (don't make me look).

Building an authority something in those communities is a commodity you can sell.

The last time I checked, which was a while ago, selling a Blogger blog was against their TOS. It does happen though.

I was not sure about their T&C, it is a shame. There are many blogs with hundreds of posts that have become idle, people no longer bother with it. Was thinking a link on the side bar, can provide hundreds of backlinks.

Same here: it must be well over a year since I've looked, but it was certainly against their terms of service. One does see them openly advertised, sometimes, in spite of that. Clearly somewhat risky, at best, anyway.

I would never buy a Blogger blog, simply because Google owns them and could shut them down at any time without warning. If that happened, then you've spent money for nothing and lost it.

That said, the same is with Squidoo, yet people buy and sell lenses there all the time, even though Squidoo owns them and could shut them down at any time (and has done it!).
