What's Your Number 1 Traffic Generation Method?

Hello Warriors! Jonathan Denney here.

I'm not much of an active poster on the forum, but I am a pretty active reader.

I've come to realize that whenever I come to the main discussion board, there is almost always a new thread asking how to drive traffic to a landing page, sales page or blog.

So here's my attempt to settle this so newbies and wondering Warriors can have a thread, with a lot of Warrior's input, to determine the best traffic generation method or source for them.

If you'd like to share your number 1 traffic generation method, feel free to leave a post below stating the method, your niche and any additional info you'd like to include.

Thanks in advance fellow Warriors!

Article marketing definitely seems to be a favorite of the Warrior's!

I expect to see more people posting that as their number 1 method.

Includes some article marketing of course, but more for the purpose of backlinks than for direct traffic.

Since I'm in Email Marketing/ List Building, I would say:

    1. Article Marketing
    2. Video Marketing
    3. Ads Swap

SEO and backlinks are not so important to me.

If you are running a blog, then keywords (SEO) and backlinks would be the king and queen!

My number 1 for consistency and the highest percentage of conversions is always through strategic relationships and networking (not necessarily affiliates and jvs). Getting those with aligned products/services to become "personal walking ambassadors" for my clients' products and services provides a flood of consistent sales with zero cost (in most cases, not even affiliate or jv fees) other than my networking time to form the alliance.

My 2nd highest is article and video marketing - which combine the ability to evangelize your story while creating substantial backlinks.

    Hi,

    I think :

    1) Affiliate traffic is N1
    2) Article marketing is also good but N2
    3) All other ways

I'm basing on logic - You must inform maximum possible quantity of the people to visit Your site and make their free choice to leave or join.

Theoretically You can find the fans/followers even for a suicide club but better do something more positive, of course

Only affiliates can create such traffic.

This is why after the week of reading the posts here I have decided to publish the JV announce on
    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...join-free.html

I know my ground business - but for Internet You have to cooperate with the professionals...or spent 3-4 years to become a professional yourself.

    Best regards,
    Serge

video is what has been working better for me to attract buyers.

articles bring a lot of traffic but not necessarily in buying mode for me, so conversions are lower. But I think I still didn´t get it right.

I even have a test running that is an inside joke.

a crappy video with good but outdated material going to a joke of a landing page with a paypal button.

have a couple of sales a month from there. The buyers end up happy though.

Nice! Thanks for your posts everyone!

What is your opinion on doing joint ventures with people in your niche?

Based on my experiences, JV's have been the most significant sources of traffic for the projects I've worked on.

The traffic comes in fast, it might not be perpetual, but it usually comes in large chunks!

Each website has its own #1 Traffic Source

Not all websites are equal, so what works for one, most likely will not work for others.

    My best traffic source
    Site #1 - Video - over 200,000 visitors
    Site #2 - Classifieds/Special industry sites
Site #3 - Forum Marketing, Email list
    Site #4 - Google Search

There is no #1 Traffic source for all websites, find your own.

    Cheers,
    Mukul

    Mukul, you're absolutely right.

The determining factor of what traffic source works best is the niche.

Thanks for the tip; I'll give it a try. Up to now I've found online social media to be the best tools for website promotion. The number one social network for driving traffic to my websites are Facebook Fan Pages. Second place is Twitter. Oddly enough whenever I post on Twitter a link to an item I have for sale on ebay, I get an exponential increase in views of that item. So I would say that for ebay promotion Twitter is the number one tool I use.

    JVs/Affiliates.

You can either promote other people's products and make money for someone else, or you can OWN the product and have an army of affiliates making money for YOU. Which sounds better? :-)

SEO, by far is my highest leverage traffic strategy

It's all about doing the correct market research, and building sites that can get rankings for low comp keywords quickly, to start getting traffic and making money, then when you have that in place, you can start to go over some of the higher competition keywords that have higher levels of traffic

I've essentially been using 4 methods to build high traffic to my blogs and websites:

        1. SOLID ON-SITE SEO & BACKLINKS FROM HIGH PR PAGES/SITES
        2. REGULAR GUEST POSTS AND COMMENTS ON POPULAR BLOGS
        3. SHARING POSTS ON FACEBOOK
        4. ADDING TO SITE AND BLOG DIRECTORIES

Apart from these I've experimented with:

        1. TWEETING POSTS (>500 FOLLOWERS)
        2. ADVERTISING ON ENTRECARD BLOGS FOR FREE
        3. ADDING THIRD PARTY RELATED FEEDS TO PAGES

          My biggies include:

          1. Videos (yep, even with my ugly mug, people go to my site and buy from me because I'm real and try to help them out, plus I hate writing... lol)

          2. Organic Search (through content and article/blog/forum/2.0/etc links)

          3. Old School style networking (become friends with other web people & let them help promote)

I like to keep it pretty simple and laid back.

In all honesty, the forums. It's my favorite traffic method. I like it better than the social networking sites or blogging. It's easier for me to answer direct questions because I know exactly what's on someone's mind rather than trying to figure it out.

Plus, forums are simpler for me to navigate around than social media sites. You just write.

And if you're in an active forum, like Warrior Forum, that's even better.

    Hey Jonathan,

Got a good discussion going I see.

My number ONE traffic generation method has been hands down Article marketing, because I've gotten great long term targeted traffic from it.

In fact, I still am getting many subscribers from an article that I did 6 months ago.

What I do is I just focus on submitting ONE article a day to Ezinearticles.com FIRST, wait for it to be approved, and then submit that same article (with a little rephrasing to avoid having Google think it's duplicate content, which will bring your search engine rankings lower) to goarticles and articlesbase.

So, if you want long term targeted traffic, article marketing is king. It's been working for me.

I noticed that you only mentioned 3 articles directories to submit your articles to. Is it sufficient to post it to only 3 top directories or do we need to sent to other directories other than the 3 for better results?

I am asking this as I am contemplating to only focused on those 3 directories and ignore the rest. Willi I be losing anything if I take this approach?
      Thanks

        Qamar,

I'm not exactly sure if this is accurate, but I've heard submitting to one main directory keeps your content original, and Google treats original content better than unoriginal content.

Like I said, I'm not exactly sure, but it most definitely makes sense.

Can anyone verify this? I haven't done any in depth testing to get an answer yet.

        Qamar,

Yes, Ezinearticles, Goarticles, and Articlesbase are pretty much the only 3 I submit to.

Of course, Ezinearticles, being the TOP of my list. The reason is as you probably know, they are like the Google and Facebook of article directories.

My strategy is to provide great quality articles to Ezinearticles FIRST and then once it's approved I paraphrase my content to remain unique and submit it to the other top 2 directories, Goarticles, who approve my articles right away and Articlesbase, who approve my articles like in an hour-two hours most times.

And so I focus on soley that. Google and other search engines love fresh, valuable, relevant content and so by minimizing the directories I post to and focusing on providing this valuable, relevant content I'm gaining good quality scores in the eyes of Google, and achieving higher rankings with my keywords.

I've been getting good results with this strategy.

Give it a try and if you need some help, just shoot me a PM or an email.

        Sonam

I admire you if actually submit an article a day.

I'm really a video guy so I prefer to create videos and get them transcribed by myself or by someone on Fiverr, then I use Traffic Geyser to submit my articles and videos, and I manually submit to EzineArticles.

Also, it's nice to see everyone's input.
