Need to repay a loan of $10,000 in 3 months... I Need HELP HELP HELP!

Hello Warriors,

I write this thread today, with a big deadline sticking on my head. I had to borrow about $10,000 (a couple hundred or so more, actually) from a private lender, for my higher education that would fetch me a job.

I found a decent job, and I'm currently at it. However, I only earn so much with my job - no real hardships with life at the moment. But, the loan amount... is heavy; and to be able to repay it in 3 months' time, I'll need to do something in addition to my job. My job pays me about $700 a month, so doubling that is not an option (not that it would be anyway).

I write content online (been doing that for a little over 4 years now), and due to limited time availability (5 hours on weekdays, and complete weekends), I manage to make an additional $400 or so per month. I'm not a spend thrift, but I hardly manage to save anything over $100 because of some responsibilities and the costs of living in the city where I work.

So, here I am... with
1.) $38.70 in my PayPal account
2.) Content writing skills
3.) A decent hand at Photoshop
4.) I can make decent videos with Windows Movie Maker
5.) I can play really well with WordPress
6.) Knowledge in HTML, CSS [learning PHP]
7.) Faily good understanding of how Internet Marketing works

How do I go about making $10,000 within the next 3 months, starting today?

Could I leverage my existing strengths? I currently write content for $1 per 100 words. Could I charge more? Please read my samples at Affordable SEOed Content Your Readers Will Love - Sample Articles & Rates and help me identify a good pay-rate for my level/style of writing. While this can take me a few steps ahead, it can only do so much considering my deadline. What else can I do?

Any help and inputs are much appreciated. I know it's a tough task ahead, but I'm ready to work hard & smart, and reach the target, as I don't really have a choice.

First of all i'm sorry for your situation, loans are terrible!
You said "decent hand at photoshop"?
Well..try to master photoshop(finding many free guides, tutorials online or buy some courses at low prices) and launch yourself in the graphics business!
    This is super HOT!

-You could start your own graphics design service and have a business that virtually guarantees you cash on demand!
-You can create minisite templates and sell them via your website or through Flippa.(there will be always a great demand for this online!)
-Create and sell web graphics packs,a very popular product that always pulls sales!
-Learn how to create graphic tools for Photoshop and sell that!
-You can modify PLR templates and resell them(with your own graphics, after you learned all the right techniques!)
-You can modify PLR minisite graphics(generally are sold with the product inside, ebook, video product,or software) and resell them under NEW graphics! (give a new "catchy" look to banners, headers, footers and ecovers!)

and many more other things you can do!

    Don't lose hope!
    I wish you incredible success!
    Best of luck!

I am not sure if you can charge more than $1/100 words, but you can write around 15 articles daily using Dragon naturally speaking and make a good amount of money by posting a thread in the Warriors For Hire Section.

Beg to disagree, you absolutely can charge a far lot more than that if you know who you are writing for and what kind of audience you are writing to. While the typical article syndication standards today is $1/100 words, but not every article needs to be article syndication. Even a half-decent article intended for article marketing would be charged double of that. And for high-end clients you can charge a complete class apart from this.

I agree with this. There is a demand for GREAT writing, especially sales copy that converts and also photoshop skills. Why not use those as a spring board and pick up a few quality clients on forums or on the big Freelance sites? You can do the work in your off time.

I don't think you'll be able to built sites or info products fast enough to hit a home run unless you have an existing list. If you have a list then there is a number of plays open for you.

So go use the skills you have to make some quick pops or start building a hot list in a rabid niche so you can start pumping offers out there.

I charge $100/1000 words and get it. So certainly the OP would be able to charge more than $1/100 words if he has a solid portfolio to back him up.

My gut instinct is to try to get another loan to replace the first loan, and make sure that the other loan has more favorable terms.

It sounds like you selected a really shady "private lender", and I am sorry about that. That is tough.

But now that you have a degree, you are more likely able to get a real loan, although your current pay scale might make that difficult as well.

Warriors For Hire will be a great place to start. Make deals and get as much work as you possibly can, and then work your ass off to get the work done well, so that you can ask those people to employ you further.

You can get out of your mess, but it is a really steep hill to climb.

If you get the bulk of it quickly by working for others, you are more likely to be able to get a smaller loan from a bank or other legitimate lender, to pay the balance.

You are an exceptional writer, most people probably don't have your skill - I don't know if the OP does, just saying that not everyone can command this type of money, can they?

Try to post this whole thing in this thread again:

Of course, edit your wordings first, don't spam, describe more where you feel you can help people, and how people can help you out as well.

    Hope it helps.

You could probably charge a little more for your articles but with the skills you have you might try doing minisite graphics instead. I think you would be able to get more money for your time that way (Unless I am overestimating your photoshop skills).

Last time I had a minisite designed, it ran me around $125 for the basics....

....So, you would need to make about 80 minisites to get to your goal. Of course, you will need to have great design skills too - just look through some of the threads in the Warriors For Hire section and you will see the kind of work you will have to do and the money you can get for it.

Otherwise, if you were to write articles... lets say you could get $7 for a 500 word article, you would need to write 1428 articles which would be 15 articles a day.

You could try putting all your skills together and making wordpress sites and flipping them on Flippa, but that's kind of a crapshoot and you could end up with a lot of websites and very little money.

I have to pay a bank back 420 dollars to get back on track. I have great writing skills. I see that article writing would be helpful for me.

$7 x 500 word article ,I would need to write 60 articles, just to catch up on it. Not too hard, I don't think.

10 articles a day for 6 days. Can do, but more even is possible.

I am thinking of writing packs from my PLR and rewriting these into whole new articles and selling packs.

I'm working on improving my speed with Photoshop...

However, what if I was set out to sell PLR content? Would I be able to get closer to $10K in 3 months? How much could I expect from selling PLR content? And what exactly should I be selling - PLR article packs? PLR ebooks? or something else?

I'm not trying to spread myself too thin, just exploring options that I can leverage my current skills/strengths on.

At some point you have to stop exploring options and focus on making money if you want to pay off your loan.

After four years of offering writing services, you know what you can earn with that and what you can't. People can tell you it's possible to earn $10k in 3 months with writing - but if you are earning $400 a month it may not be possible for you right now.

You are attracted to the PLR idea but that's an ongoing discussion you've asked about several times in the past year. Did you build a PLR membership site? How much new PLR have you written that's ready to sell? Clearly, it is something you are interested in - but have you done anything to get it started?

Not criticizing as I see you've shown interest in many topics and have been willing to learn about various methods. It's time to choose one and work to make it happen.

If you have a serious financial need 3 months from now, you need to start focusing on earning right away. There is no more time to consider options and think over possibilities until after you meet this critical goal of $10k.

Think of a few things you can do within 15 minutes that actually helps people and put it on Fiverr.

Fiverr is ridiculous for most things but if you have a facebook account with a lot of friends, Twitter with a lot of followers or anything else you can think of (be creative) put it on there.

There's crazy demand for a lot of things on there and some take you like 5 minutes to do.

    Best of luck man!!

    *EDIT*
Don't forget to sell all the stuff you dont need on Ebay. Which is A LOT in most people's cases.

I can emphasize with you, it's a difficult situation.

You have to be realistic in what you can and can't do. It could be a stretch for you at the moment to make 10K in 3 months doing things that you are comfortable with. If that is the case, 1)try to renegotiate your loan if you haven't done it already. It never hurts to ask. 2)can you get loans from other sources with more flexible payment schedule to repay your original loan. It might help you to buy some time. 3) Think outside the box - what are you willing to do (legally) to earn 10K, either as a lump sum, or 20x500$ or 50x200S, for example. Sometimes it's easier to solve smaller problems in order to accomplish a bigger goal.
Hope it helps, even if just a little bit. All the best to you. Good luck!

      Hi Kay,

      Thanks for your perspective here.

No offence taken. Have I done something on PLR yet?! Not actually. I have, however, started writing 3 articles a day (from today, for the next 5 days) to compile an article pack of 15 articles in a very hot niche (targetting low-competition keywords). How much can I sell each pack for? How many copies should I be selling? Is WarriorForum a good place to sell PLR articles? WSO or some other section?

P.S.: I've read some of your posts on other threads, and you provide some great insights. Thanks again, for taking the time to help us here.

Yeah, sorry, thought you were from the U.S.

There's still a lot of options for you, though. Bidding on sites like elance, odesk, etc. to write articles and occasionally you can find a good rate. Good luck.

Wow, i feel very sorry for the pinch you are in. I would reckon you offer to do bigger projects like writing an ebook or doing a full scale project that you can offer your services for a few thousand dollars. Writing $1/100 word will really take you some time to hit that $10k, unless you write 40 articles a day of 500 words which equates to $200 a day. That would bring you $6k in 30days and $12k in 2 months. If that can be done, you still have an additional $2k to keep for yourself!

I'm not sure why no one has mentioned for you to make your own product(s), especially considering the skills that you mentioned you have.

I'd make a cheap product..i'm talking $10-$20 and sell it on this forum ...or start at like $7 or $10 and after a certain number of sales is reached...like 20 people buy at $10 increase the price until you're selling the product for $20. You say you're decent at Photoshop, so creating a product about the basics and adding some bonus techniques shouldn't be too hard. I'd include pdf format and videos, and as for bonus techniques I'd include things like texturing tutorials, explain blending options and how to use them, and include a few tutorials that show how to do really cool effects. Basically, I'd pretty much over-deliver as much as I could with this product.

Now, you also mentioned knowing html and css, on the back-end I'd create a website selling the cheaper product, and on the back end it offers a full members area with a video course about how to create a website using photoshop, html, & css, charging a minimum of $97. You also mentioned knowing Wordpress really well, so I'd add that as a bonus to the course and show all the ins & outs of Wordpress, how to install and setup a self hosted one, etc. Basically over-delivering here too..

Hopefully this helps, maybe someone will elaborate about product creation.

What you need is maybe to re-finance, paying off the original loan and spreading the resulting repayments over 5 years, or even 3 years.

This will take the pressure off you, and doing that will enable you to plan better, execute plans better and work better, thus earning more anyway.

Just a suggestion, if you can.
