Advertising a Simple Web design service aimed towards Small Businesses and the Self Employed?

Hello everyone. Title pretty much says it all. I know of course theirs the Warriors for hire and Warrior classified Ads here, but I'm thinking that's more geared towards webmasters who are going to need more functionality than what I'll provide.

Anyone know a good targeted place I could throw up an ad, aimed at small business / self employed person just looking to put their brand on the web, and at an extremely affordable price?

I google'd "small business forum" and amazingly their isn't much traffic on them. Also PPC would not work for this situation. I also tried Craigslist and Backpage, and can barely get one click through.

Thanks for any advice.

Craigslist perhaps, Offline advertising may be more effective though.

I tried craigslist and backpage (forgot to mention that).. And, AMAZINGLY, not getting even 1 or 2 click throughs.. I'm talking about ad's placed in NYC.. it's amazingly ineffective..

But thanks, I will consider some offline marketing. Really just looking to make some money asap, not looking at this as a primary business model, which is why I'm not interested in PPC or anything (needing to track and manage ROI).

Are you talking about creating simple websites for a web presence for small physical businesses?

    A few quick ideas:

    - Newspapers

    - trade magazines

    - google biz listings (if they have a checkmark by their listing, they've verified it ... and if they don't have a site to go with the listing, then they probably want a web presence & are relying on that tiny google listing ... contact them directly)

    - online "yellow page" listings (same kind of idea as google listings ... if they don't have a site... they're relying on that little web listing & might be interested in a site... contact them)
