Amazon affiliate marketing

I decided to be an affiliate for Amazon. I'm planning to make a blog for sales but I don't know which kind of products should I promote. I'm also planning to get traffic from SEO and social networks like Facebook. Do you think that this is a good idea?

    Hey,

I'm also already in the process of doing the same in my country.

In terms of the products you are trying to promote...

If you are promoting JUST for your country, then I suggest first of all that you find products that can be shipped to your country. Make sure most of the products in that particular category can be shipped to that country. E.G. Electronics can't be shipped to New Zealand due to Warranty Reasons.

Find hot selling products in your country and go with that (on my opinion).

I find that most of the items in Amazon can only be shipped within the U.S.

You can sell to the World Wide market, but some products may not be able to be shipped to that particular country. So just watch out for that

    Thanks

Sounds like as good start, are you familier with the Amazon store plugin that automates the creation of content using Amazon data feeds. Hopefully you create a quality site with search engine pleasing articles in addition to the catalog pages. There's a lot of competing affiliates, some with countless generic auto generated BANS type niche sites.

Make sure you promote high ticket items (over $100) so the commission is worth it.

First off, working with Amazon is a great idea. Almost everyone out there with regular web access (and even those without) have at least heard of Amazon and what it is. So it's a great place to start selling physical products.

As far as traffic is concerned, I honestly don't see why SEO and social network marketing would not work. But what type of SEO? Because not all types of traffic are the same. If you get 10K visits a month but no sales, then there is obviously something wrong.

But in general, the plan sounds good.

I thought to look at the Amazon top holiday deals and make more blogs, each for a specific type of the products. What do you think about this idea?

Yeah this is a good idea. Make a different blog for each category that you're selling products from.

You can join Amazon.com in the U.S even if you live in another country. Amazon will mail you a check and I think it will be better because the U.S has the most traffic and buyers so you'll make more money in my opinion.

Look for products over the $100 range with lots of good reviews. If the products has lots of good reviews you know that people are buying them on Amazon and of you send people to Amazon they WILL buy.

    Good luck,

Promote very nichey product at first and do some proper SEO to get your website at the top of the search engines for "PRODUCT XYZ REVIEW" and you'll do great.

Facebook ads dont convert that well..
