Blank page after commenting on wordpress blog... why?

Anybody had a similar experience?

Sometimes I would get a blank page after commenting on a blog,
sometimes it would just refresh the page without my comment on it,
it doesn't even say it's awaiting moderation.
And when I try to comment again, it says it's duplicate content.

Anybody know why this happens?

Any tips on building backlinks to wordpress blogs?

Thanks

The blog owner got irritated with your post....and sent you to akismet underworld.

To check if you are in akismet, which is tied to your IP, log out of one of your self hosted blogs, then leave a comment somewhere on your own blog. Do you see the blank screen? Now log into your blog. Do you see your comment marked as spam? If yes, then you have been sent to akismet underworld. You can get out by asking akismet to let you out. Or you can wait it out - takes about six months, usually.

This is great info. I had the faced it, but never knew this could be the reason. Need to read more on this.

Wow that is really interesting, I never knew that was the reason!

If it is tied to your IP, what happens if you turn off your modem for 15 minutes to change the IP, would you be back in 'normal' world again?

Wow, I did not know that. I always wondered what that blank page was about. Funny though, I always take the time to read the posts and leave a relevant and insightful comment but I guess some people probably just take exception to leaving comments to websites that are obviously there to make money.

Most modems (unless old 56k) have static IPs nowdays.

If you need a new IP, you could try a VPN or Proxy service.

If you are getting Blank Page upon commenting then it means that there is a Akismet spam filter is working and your comment has been queued for moderation. Once your link is considered as Spam by Akismet then you will not be able to post comment on any site using Akismet. This issue cannot be resolved by changing your IP or using proxies as Akismet hit your link as Spam mostly.

    Thanks

Are you linking back to a sub-page on your site? If so, try just linking to the top level domain instead. Akismet filters out links to sub pages for some reason - at least, that has been my experience.

Akismet plugin has blocked your keyword or URL. This is happened after putting many comments from same IP, same Email or URL/Anchor.

    • Yes, another great way to check is to do a search for "What's my IP" and see what your IP address is.

Then turn off your PC and your internet connection.

Wait a few a little bit. Turn everything back on and see if you have a new IP.

If so, go and leave a comment and see what happens.
