Websites: WP, Xsite pro, or something else

I was wondering what platform most people use for their marketing sites. I used xsite pro a couple of years ago, and I like it, but wordpress seems like it might be easier and of course you can access it on any computer.
What's the general consensus? Thanks alot. I am about to build another one.

I like to use WP the most, it have a lot of plugins. In a flash of some seconds site will be ready. Already have the best framework.

Wordpress has gotten so incredibly easy - particularly in adding functionality and updating the core files...

It's really a wonder that static sites or other CMS's exist...

I've moved away from static sites altogether (although I value my HTML coding knowledge) and have only a single Drupal site still remaining (which I'm thinking about moving to Wordpress)

Don't give it a moment's thought - go with Wordpress!

For free sites, Blogger with my own customizations. For sites I've tested and am willing to pay for, Wordpress. They're really the easiest choices.

Blogger is better for newbies, non-techies, and those who are unwilling to invest money yet but need a website in order to make that money to invest. Wordpress is better for pros and those willing to undergo the WP learning curve (which is fairly gentle).

I use wordpress for all my sites and haven't gotten any problem but for all the newbies out there, there is a some learning curve but comparing to other systems, WP is the CMS that is available for IM

Just finished my first site using xsite pro and I really like it. If you have multiple sites its really easy to keep track of them all.

I don't think I am known around here (and anywhere in the world) for my polite "diplomatic" manners

As for what works for me... I am a firm believer of the basic rule: use the right tool for the job! And I mean it. Despite being "fluent" in WP I use many more scripts depending on what the task is.

I have witnessed during the past years that WP fans can become highly over-zealous and wanting to do everything on the net using WP. Plus, thinking their recommendation is the only one to be considered...

I like it, too. And I agree, it can do a lot of things... even if not anything

I use a custom designed blog.

I got sick and tired of having to continually update and fix hacked WP sites.

Most people use wordpress, as you already saw from the answers.

I like authority sites, and I like flexibility, so I use Joomla for most projects and drupal for some projected to be very heavy duty sites.

With these platforms, I can setup a squeeze page on the front, a full funnel, change stuff on the fly, add a shoppng cart, a membership, whatever I feel like it. And I can do it in stages with low risk.
