Clickbank Order Form Sale Conversion 6%???

To all of you who have a product on Clickbank, what do you think of a 6% order form sale conversion rate? I'm pretty sure it's incredibly low but I don't know what I can do about it... If you go as far as clicking on the "buy now" button, you should be in a buying mood. I can totally understand that not everybody who displays the payment page actually ends up making the payment, but 6% looks very weak to me.

Also, I currently have only 40 sales for 112 order form submits! Why would 65% of all the visitors who click on the "buy now" button AND the "submit payment" button end up not buying the product? I can understand that some of them might be trying to check whether somehow they can get access to the product for free, but 65%.....

I have no idea how these stats compare to what other clickbank vendors are experiencing.

  • I would not be at all concerned about that conversion rate. They will click through to the order page for a number of reasons, from curiosity to just wanting to see who might be processing your payments...

One reason i sometimes click the buy now button is to see the PRICE. Some sales pages have the price buried in text, and I do not always want to read the entire sales page to see the PRICE of the product, so I simply click the BUY button, check the price and then decide if its in my range or not.

If you do not have the price of the product CLEARLY displayed near the buy button, that may be one reason by so many click the buy button without buying.

I think a 6% conversion rate is GREAT!! Congrats.

I second what IC said - that's a bit on the low side, but nothing to worry about, especially this time of year. Those numbers will improve in the spring, but even at the best I get maybe 25-30% order form impression to sales conversion.

Alright then, thank you for the answers. I still don't understand why Clickbank doesn't allow us to customize and test different variations of the payment page, but that's a whole different debate and something we can't do much about anyway.

They will allow you to customize it, but you have to ask your account manager. It may also depend on how long you've had your account and how successful it's been.

You can change the colour scheme, along with the header image, here is an example: http://9.kingg.pay.clickbank.net/?cbskin=622

Thanks IC, since you know about this I guess you've tried/tested it. Is-that something you would recommend doing based on your own personal experience and the results you got?

Yes, most deffinately. It's something you should do.

Infact once you are allowed to change the payment page you don't really test it against the default standard you are currently stuck with, you then test it against your own versions by using different images and messages and colour schemes.

You should deffinately approach click bank and get this feature added.

As another poster has already stated, you can change the header and background of the order form, you just need to ask them - I also use it.

In relation to the very low conversion from order forms, this isn't news to anyone. Majority of the people who go to your order form will never end up buying - it's just a fact.

That is why you will see the SMART marketers use a second page BEFORE the order form that looks like part of the ordering process. When they click your add to cart button you should be sending them to a page where they "Create Their Account" by entering their name and email address. They are in fact not creating an account at all - unless you have a membership site or something.

But by collecting their email address through this form you can follow up with those leads and get more of them to buy over the next few days/weeks. You're mad if you are leaving out this step - these are your best leads so you need to collect them and follow up with them.
