Ok How Do I Make Money?

I have $37,000 in the bank and I have tried selling ebooks and making sales pages and in 6 months made 3 sales. What are my other options on making money with my money. I'm desperate and I don't want to end up broke.

DON'T BUY ANYTHING!!! There is so much free information out there do not buy a damn thing until you know exactly the path you are going to follow and stick with. A problem that newbies have is that they jump on the bandwagon of each newest and greatest thing that comes along. You need to find one plan and stick with it for several months to see if it works for you. Don't jump from one thing to the next.

Ok, questions like this comes up a lot I'm seeing. Just phrased differently but basically asking the same thing.

The war room, a membership site, a PDF report, a Guru's seminar, a physical course, etc, etc, is nothing more that INFORMATION!

INFORMATION doesn't do anything, doesn't perform any action, doesn't physically do work, it's just words, audio, video, demonstrating what someone it teaching you. Nothing more that what a teacher in a classroom does to there students.

Does every student in his/her class graduate? Maybe, or maybe not. Is that the teacher's fault? Maybe, or maybe not.

INFORMATION is give for each person to use in their own way. Some can use it better than others and some can't use it at all, for what ever reason.

But the buck ends with YOU! What are YOU going to do with the information? Are you determined to learn? Unwilling to give up? Have plenty of patience? Don't take no for an answer? etc.

I've been teaching IM for a few years, not on a big scale, but none-the-less still teaching it. And I've come to find out a few things:

        Biggest newbie problems:
        1. Getting Ready to Get Ready
        2. Seeking Perfection
        3. Looking for some kind of Clarity before they've committed
        4. Negative Emotions
        5. Being to Attached to the Outcome
        6. Being Productive vs Action
        7. Asking 'How' and 'When' Questions before asking 'Why'
I could list a few more but these are the biggest I've experienced. If you want to get started in internet marketing and you are free from ALL the above obstacles then you probably have a chance.

Just to clear some things up I'm not a newbie, I've been making sites since 2001, I treated it as a hobby since I never made money at it. I've been on webmaster forums since 2001. The only thing I made good money online was outsourcing PHP projects I made allot doing that. All the work dried up when most of the work was outsourced and people lowered there prices.

Ahmen I say , Ahmen . I too have been there. Spent a fortune on training. Maybe I just dont get it, but things dont always click. Biggest thing though is don't keep pouring money down the black hole.

But then on the other hand, how would the successful internet marketers make money if you didnt buy their products

A while back I made a site where I sold internet marketing ebooks. I started making sales with PPC sometimes 1 or 2 a day and it was consistant for a week. So I got excited spent more on PPC, Wrote dozens of articles, did SEO and got traffic from search engines etc and after i got the increase in traffic all the sales dried up and I couldn't squeeze one sale out even with the increase in traffic, to this date a year later that same site hasn't produced 1 single sale. I think it's about luck some people have it some people don't. I work my ass off and make nothing and some people brag about how they throw up a site and a few weeks later the sales start pouring in.

Simple. Take some time to find a killer niche, make it very 2015. I'm serious look into the future on whats trending, then pick one. Once you have your niche picked out hire a team of developers to build a membership site you can drip content into over and over again, or have a software as service like senuke setup. Thennnn Charge $34 per month or whatever. then market to get 1,000 members worldwide, then cash in making $34k per month...

Or think of a kick ass app for smart phones and launch it on all of them.

    Good luck.

        Hi,
Learn all you can about Internet Marketing.
Just do some searches for Frank Kern's stuff (List Control, Mass Control)... Eben Pagan's stuff (Guru Blueprint, Get Ignition, Get Altitude)... Jeff Walker (Product Launch Formula)..... You can find their courses and download them.

        Here's what I've discovered:
        1. Become an expert at something.
        2. Create a website with a landing page (to build a list), and three or four categories where you can post some content (500 - 1000 word articles).
        3. You will need to build a web of sites pointing to your landing page:
        - Blog
        - Twitter
        - Facebook
        - Myspace
        - EzineArticles
        - HubPages
        - Squidoo
        - Social bookmarking sites

        4. Create a free giveaway (pdf) to bribe them to join your list.
        5. SURVEY your list to find out WHAT THEY WANT, specifically.
        6. Bribe them to take your survey (free pdf or video with content).
        7. Now that you know what they want in a field you are an expert in, create a product.
        7. Set a LAUNCH DATE and then promote it.
        8. Write articles.
        9. Content Distribution: Send unique content to all the sites in your web. Don't post the same article in multiple places. Everything must be unique.
        10. Create several BONUS items to give away with your product.
        11. Get 50 affiliate partners through contacts you meet on forums that talk about the field you are in. Get them to give away your FREE PDF/VIDEO. Offer them 50% of what they can sell, and tell them all they have to do is give away your free stuff.
        12. Launch your product.

        That help?

        Mark

          Dave,

          1) With $37,000 you aint broke. It's good that you're being mindful about how you want to spend your money, but you've got puh-lenty to start with.

          2) Don't compare yourself to other people's successes. Luck, as you know, has very little to do with the business. It has to do with careful planning, picking a strategy and sticking to it. Another person's success has ZERO influence on your own. You are the master of your own business.

          3) Think about what worked in the past. You mentioned making money providing some sort of PHP service that made you quite a bit of money. So you've got experience. Why not do that again while you learn other methods for passive income?

I mean, s**t, you can sell PHP. That's good!

You obviously have the ability to make money online. The only thing that you're getting frustrated about is the internet marketing part. That's the one skill you're finding hard to master, and it's pissing you off. Don't beat yourself up over it. We ALL experience failure. It's part of growing.

I don't really see you in dire straits, especially not with $37K at the ready. I just see frustration. You just need to re-assess and refocus your efforts. That's all.

You don't need to take a "make it or die" approach to making money online. This is the internet. It's designed to be flexible. Nothing says you can't earn active income while trying to build your way up to a passive income.

Think outside of the box as well. Can you create a webstore where people can download PHP scripts or something useful like that?

Consider what you'd like to do.

You might decide you prefer article marketing over email marketing or social media marketing over blogging. With $37K you've got more time and capital at your disposal than those who have far, far less and had to come up with something quick to make ends meet.

You might consider getting coaching. I did that, and it helped a lot. Sometimes it helps to have a person mentor you and put everything in perspective, and there's nothing wrong with that. Do whatever it is that helps you meet your goal that's legal, of course.

So shake off the past. Start fresh. And look at this year as a new beginning. Before you jump straight into another program, think about what you want to achieve and how you're going to master it.

In other words, YOU take control of your money making efforts and not the other way around.

Look at Facebook advertising which is like adsense but less expensive and FB is getting a lot of traffi. Also, if you can produce a video on a popular subject, upload it to youtube which is getting 49 million visits a day. No need to spend a lot of your money trying to figure out how to do it online.

You need to move on to another income model. There's lots of information on this site. Start doing some reading and begin figuring out what exactly interests you the most.

You'll probably have more trial and error before you begin making steady income.
Hang in there. As long as you're willing to learn new things, you'll find something that works for you.

If you have $37,000 you need to keep it and not throw it away on some Internet Marketing dream. If you have been on the Internet since 2001 you already know as much as anyone else about making money on the Internet.

Times are going to get worst than they are right now and you are going to wish you had that $37,000 in a couple of years. I am not making a lot of money on the Internet right now, a few sales here and there. It has changed a lot, most of the the things I was making money at don't work any more. Google stopped many of them with their changes.

I just do it as a hobby right now, because there is more competition and that competition knows more than they did in 2001 so it is much harder to get ranked on Google than in the past. Google has a role also, they are much smarter now, and that means you have to work much harder now to beat the competition.

I am not saying you can't make money, but you will be working as hard or harder than any job you had in the past. There will be many people tell you just the opposite and you can listen to them if you want, because this is just my opinion and I could have missed something in my 12 years of IM, but if I did miss it it's not going to be easy for you to find it.

Hi Dave. Believe me, I understand where you are coming from. I decided to try my hand at marketing to offline businesses. I am having some limited success, but haven't gone all out in my marketing yet. There are a lot of small businesses out there that could use your help. You could help with web site design, online marketing, social media marketing, etc. You already have the knowledge and much of this can be outsourced, so you can spend your time doing what you do best. The demand is there, you just have to go out there and get the business. It sure beats trying to sell ebooks for a few bucks a piece. Good luck!

Affiliate marketing is not easy. Getting visitors to a site is one thing, but then getting them to buy is even tougher. You might find it easier to start making some money with Adsense. I've made more money with Adsense on information type niches rather than physical product niches.

I like the post above from Just Do It. Anyways look into marketing on facebook like Jo Barnes and Chris Farrell. Jo did it in only 3 months. The only thing I advise before buying any IM products is seeing the feedback at IMreportcard dot com. See what good and bad things are said about any product you are thinking of buying. A good book that I found and several marketers have said it was good is "20 Ways To Make #100 A day"

Think about getting some products with PLR that have to do with the latest trends. Checkout Trendhunter dot com. BTW, I see a lot of good comments in this thread.

I think you've got a misconception that because you've got $37k in the bank that it should be easier or more realistic to make money online. If you've been IM since 2001 and not done very well from it then something isn't right.

If you managed to make 3 sales you know what you have to do to make them, you have to ramp up your efforts to produce more sales. This site has a ton of information (Free) of modules you can follow to produce an income and for many of them big money upfront doesn't come in to it. Small investments i.e domain, hosting, are all a majority of modules need. Its the effort you need in the millions.

If you can throw up a website, why not offer to build small websites for people and small businesses?

Or light up again what you already did in making online sales and improve on it. Build your traffic using free methods rather than throwing money at it.

This statement by you has a lot to do with why you're not succeeding.

Stick that $37k in the bank and have the mental security that, that will bring with it.

You have a working module ( selling ebooks ) put all your efforts in to it.

Get yourself a cup of coffee, a nice, comfortable chair and click on over to either the WSO forum, or the IM product review forum.

Spend a LONG time there. Look for ONLY threads/products with a LOT of reviews. And take the slightest bit of interest ONLY in those one-in-a-thousand threads where LOTS of people are replying, quite specifically, that they are making money hand over fist with that method.

Practically ignore the sales copy, because the writer is just telling you what you want to hear. Listen to the REVIEWERS.

If you read every post in both forums for the past year or so, and look ONLY for those threads where lots of reviewers are SWEARING that they're making really good cash with the method, and that it's everything the seller promised and more, you will probably find five or six such products.

Pick the one that suits your interests best, and purchase it.

Then, be bound and determined to see it through, no matter what.

Making money online is sooo simple. Here it is in 3 steps:

    1. Ask people what they want i.e. survey
    2. Make what they ask for i.e. write a book, create a site, etc.
    3. Give them (or sell them) the finished product they asked for

You can't go wrong! Don't worry about SEO, finding niches, or any of that. This will answer all the keyword, and niche searching you could spend your life doing.

Honestly, I can't have $37,000 in the bank and be desperate to make money.

Why? Being desperate might work against your money-making ideas. It can lead to confusion.

    Relax and think clearly.

Well, for far less than $37,000, you can buy a decent used color copier.

Then, you'll want to withdraw a few hundred dollar bills from the bank. Make sure they are nice and crisp.

After that, you'll be able to make as much money as you want!

Of course, at some point, you're going to end up in jail. But, guess what happens then: no more money worries! Free room and board and a decent health care plan too.

Seriously, though, don't buy anything right now. Read and learn as much as you can, then develop a plan of action and stick to that plan. Keep your $37k in the bank and only spend on IM what you've earned through IM.

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Whatever you do don't blow it all on buying $97 ebooks that you think will teach you everything you need to know. I'd go back to whatever it was you did to make that $37k

Here is a good rule of thumb. You are only allowed to spend money that you make in IM for informational products about IM.

If you are ready to spend that money, just go to flippa and pick out a good niche you are interested in, and which is already profitable.

After doing due dilligence, and everything pans out as mentioned in the sales later

You will automatically get a proven site which has history to back up the sales, the research has been done and, the seller will divulge all the key details like profitable keywords, promotion strategies etc.

  • Pay someone to write a hundred articles for $400 or $500, and affiliate link them.

Get them accepted on EzineArticles, and then post them at the other sites that accept duplicate content.

With 100 quality articles you should see sales immediately.

I'd put away my wallet / credit card, realize that $37k is gonna last me quite a while for living expenses (unless yours are crazy high for some reason) ... and sit down and start getting a handle on the basics.

Learn what makes people want to buy stuff ... see where they hang out ... read / listen to what they're saying about the stuff they want/think/desire ... then figure out how to match products to what they want.

Either make the product yourself, partner with someone, or become an affiliate ... and then get yourself in front of those people to sell.

You can do that by either building a site, running article/video/audio/guest posts/jv/paid/etc traffic to it and tweak conversions ... or buy an existing site (you could afford a pretty good one) and just take the reigns and market it out there.

Or just forget all that and do something else offline. Maybe buying cars low and selling high, scrapping junk, getting involved in vending/laundry/car wash stations, etc. Tons of options.

Most people know that there are millions of dollars being spent every single day purchasing products and services online. But did you know that you could be earning a % on every sale made by simply referring and recommending the products that you like to people.

It's one of the best ways to get started making money online - you don't need a website, you don't need a blog, you don't even need any cash to get started, although these things can help, you can certainly start without them. By helping consumers research and choose products they already want to buy, which could be as simple as writing a 500 word article you could be earning a nice little second income. Or if you want to take it a little more seriously, you can earn a full income, even more than most "real world" jobs pay.

I personally make a full time living through affiliate marketing, and have been doing it now for about 5 years. Working from home, choosing the hours to suit my lifestyle, and making a lot more than I ever made working 60 hours a week in a job I hated.

I'm trying my hand at CPA marketing, instead of selling my ebooks on my sites you can download the ebooks instantly for free if you fill out a short survey, I'm also implementing Adsense on all my sites which I haven't done before. So far today I made a few dollars

What i suggest may seem a little strange, being in an IM forum but....

I would actually look to create an iphone app, for $1,500 you can create something pretty decent like a simple but addictive game and market it well.

Also invest in penny stocks. I am on a list that sends out weekly picks and get sometimes gains of 30%. These stocks you might only hold for a day or two but you can make serious money if you already have money. I monitored the market for 3 months before going in! This is the list I am on!

Penny Stocks | Internet Marketing - First Steps

With 37k i would have a 20% play after monitoring it for a couple of weeks.
