Hello!
So I've launched a "proper" blog thing. Been working on the design and content for forever but (I think) its worth it.
I'm still adding content to the site but I'm running into a bit of a wall...

I have to build backlinks to get any quality traffic to read through and buy the stuff I'm hawking but I don't have enough hours in the day...

I need to outsource either the content writing or the backlink building... What should I let go of?

I know whatever I don't do myself will be... well not as good. Help me make up my mind and any feedback on the site is welcome!

Cheers,
S

Honestly, I'd outsource backlink building. I got it done cheap through these guys and it got my site to the first page.

That could be because I enjoy content creation more, but I feel it's more important in the success of a site.

So, which do you enjoy less?

Outsource backlinking at the minimum, and both if possible.

I started off doing the whole backlinking thing myself. Pain in the butt. Then I started using software like Senuke. Great software, just not my cup of tea to run through the process of doing it. Now I am outsourcing my backlink building through different services that can be found here.

I find it cheap, easy and more enjoyable to pick the service I want and order.

      Thats my thoughts.

Be careful though, don't build too much backlinks if it's new. Google might ruin your plans. Huge number of Backlinks depend on the age of the website.

That's what i'm afraid of... the boogey men of google shutting me down.

Thanks, i'll keep that in mind. Let the current status mature before I add more backlinks.

My site is just 18 days young... so I should wait (?) ... I will try my hand at patience. )

Focus more on content before 30 days, the start the blast after that. =)
And remember, quality is way better than quantity.

"Patience is a virtue, impatience reality" who ever said that must've known me.

But seriously, i'll get my act together on the content front.

      backlink building... ughhh!
I used the service you linked to, still waiting for the results but my site is fairly new so i'm not too worried about the links maturing. Good to know these guys have been producing results.
      Thanks.

Mine's pretty new too, it's been bouncing around a lot, but at least it's in the first few pages of Google, so I'm happy outsourcing that. I've barely even done it myself and I hate backlinking, haha.

Do you enjoy content creation? If so, that'll make a huge difference in the success of your site.

I love content creation and design tinkering (on most days).
Plus, no matter how much I pay I cannot find a content writer who can wow me. So, its a win win.

Can I take a look at your site? (just curious)

Since I'm suck in writing, I outsource my content writing to others. But like Zabrina suggested, I should try Backlinking, too.

out source as much as you can afford....

    Backlinking
    is a pain in
    the
ass!! I out source that now and
    the
results are sweet I can build a site in a few hours and then move on to
    the
next one as opposed to spending a week building links :-)

I use to out source article writing, I
    don't
at the moment use articles as its a little over rated but I still have content written.

Good for you. That's the smart way of doing things, isn't it.
Maybe one day, i'll have a bunch of minions do all the work for me.

Thanks I'll def. be outsourcing the backlinking... for now.

I have a simple rule that I follow no matter what project I'm working on. I outsource whatever will take me the most time to do.

That way, I can have someone else doing the tedious mundane work (usually my wife) While I go through the faster stuff.

          Makes sense.

If you want to treat it like a business and not a job that you built for yourself, then think of outsourcing your weaker area... with an eye on outsourcing both sides over time.

Personally, I would outsource the backlinking and other more technical SEO type stuff since that quickly sends me into a catatonic state and yet the content side is actually fun for me. But, I've got friends in the biz who can't stand the thought of writing, but will play with keywords and backlinking all day long just for fun.

So, while you're starting, I'd say do the one that will energize you and keep you interested and engaged.

Offload the backlinking - hands down.

Your content is really the value of your site. If you have to work your butt off on once aspect make sure the content is solid.
