So I have decided on a clickbank product I want to promote. My plan is to:
-Do some keyword research w/ market samurai (free trial)
-Get a keyword domain name
-Set up auto responder (don't have one yet)
-Set up a blog to review the product and have opt in for free video or something (need sugestions on themes)
-Link in my blog to the landing of product

Drive traffic to blog via:
-Write articles and send out to top 10 article directories linking to my blog (how many?)
-Set up 1 hubpages linking to blog (never done it before)
-Set up 1 squidoo page linking to blog
-Start backlinking my blog by commenting on videos (need more suggestions on this)
-Maybe try for some cheap ppc

I would like to do some video but I really don't know how or where to start with video. Should I use images of the product on the video and talk about the success rate of this product vs the success rate or other similar ones?

I've heard you should have at least a three blog network so should I set up 2 more blogs. I just didn't want to be too much out of pocket if it didn't work. I would like to outsource some of this but I am still new myself so I'm not sure what would be best to outsource and how to check if it was done right or how much it should cost. What can I do better and what should I do more of?

Thanks Warriors

It all sounds good-ish. It's far more than most people ever do. You'll make some money, for sure, if you pull it all off successfully. (As long as you chose the product wisely - everything else depends on that, after all!).

You chose the product without doing any keyword research, then? Ok ...

Video? That will lose many people who don't like/want videos. Just an observation.

The "theme" depends on who the visitors are and on what brought them to your site in the first place and on what you're planning to do with the list you generate. You need the incentive for which they opt in to be as close a match as possible to the product(s) you're promoting.

"How many" isn't answerable from the information you've provided - it really isn't. Not a criticism, just the reality.

Don't forget to post every article on your own site first, and have them indexed there, before submitting them to any article directories!

Aha! The truth emerges. You would like to do some video. Will you sell more by doing it that way, or doesn't that matter? Is this also connected with the niche (are you selling a video camera advice guidebook, or something?). If not, why have you apparently already decided before starting to track/monitor anything that video is going to be such a big part of the answer, here? I'm asking mostly out of curiosity: I do this for a living (with Clickbank products) and it would never occur to me at all to use video at any stage of my marketing process.

I'm not sure, but I think it's a good place, there are many very good things on your list which I haven't commented on at all. It should work out for you, if you follow through on everything, monitor carefully, learn well, have selected a good product to start with, that will convert your traffic, and don't decide before you start what's going to work well and what isn't. Good luck!

Alexa, you are always very helpful and I just wanted to thank you personally and let you know I appreciate your posts very much.

I did some keyword research first to find the niche and it has decent traffic. I was referring to the keyword research in the op to find the domain name. The product I will be promoting is like a video tutorial on how to fix a certain electronic product and they have a sample video I could use to add to the blog so thats why I was thinking in that direction.

Plus I have heard to use videos to get traffic so I was thinking of making my own to describe the product and send it out to all the video sites on the web (haven't done that yet) but not sure how to go about it.

I am not sure how to "monitor" and I am still new (haven't made money yet) so I appreciate all the help I can get.

Is there competition in the niche that you want to target? If yes: Cool, go ahead. If no: stop right there.

There are so many people out there doing research and testing different products. If your target niche has no or very little competition, it could mean that there is no money in it.

Just think about a mall. If there are already 5 jewelry stores, you can open number 6 and you would most likely make money. Lets say there is no store offering cheese specialties. I would not invest my money in a cheese store in that mall.

All this keyword research is good for companies that sell keyword research software. Usually it is much easier to look for what is currently working for others and model after that.

Good answer! I certainly can't argue with that! Yes, probably absolutely no problem using video to promote it, then.

TO correct your plan I would suggest...

Do what you have found out about first NOW!

Then when done, look at the results and come back here for advice before round 2.

You can be constantly hit with new ideas and different strategies and spend countless time researching it. Put it into action and learn as you go.

Stay focused and block out distractions. Disappear from the forum until you complete this, and then come back to get some feedback and tweak your strategy.

You'll learn a lot more doing than you will asking. And once you have done something, the answers to your questions will make more sense to you.

  • hey brad, you seem to have a couple of good ideas already and you are headed on the right track man.
first, it might be a good idea to purchase the actual product and have a feel of what "solution" they are offering on the "problem". the problem in this case being your niche as an IM. also check out their sales letter and take notes on their headlines and bullet points. earlier today i was reading a Tiffany dow thread (warrior forum, IM section) about getting article ideas and she pointed out how important those headlines and bullets are, she gave an example of an dating ebook and on the sales page there was a sub heading "are you scared of the dating scene and unsure of how to approach and talk to women" and she turned that sales-page-marketish-query into an article headline that went something like "how to talk to women when you're nervous". obviously you could milk more from that as you'll be needing a lot of article ideas.

video is a great idea, sometimes, but it all depends on the product at hand. i didn't quite understand what this product that you want to promote is about, but it seems that video is already a perfect fit in there, if you are demonstrating how to fix an electronic device, look at the material that they are offering and think of different ways to do your video, and try to appeal to a wider audience because sometimes IMers tend to operate on a complex level that might appeal to insiders but might not be fully understood by the mainstream, so don't be afraid to break things down abit even though they might seem perfectly clear to you.

i remember i once read a case study of an Australian lady , i think, who set up a niche through youtube where she taught how to apply make up. they were mostly short clips on the basics but she had had experience in that industry and she was able to convey a wealth of information. she managed to grow her audience to 500k subscribers on her youtube channel and i think the happy ending to this IM story is that she launched her own product, which was a make up kit with she assembled herself and i think she made a nice amount of money. so video is good, if you are natural, helpful and do something slightly unique.

ps: when choosing the domain name try not to choose one that is named after the product because that will work against you if you decide to promote another product in the same niche. try and choose a domain name that describes the problem and that is being searched for alot. another thing is to use those sub headlines and bullets from the sales page in your keyword research, that is bound to give you a lot of ideas and maybe even a domain name!

good luck man and keep us posted
