I am just wondering.

Why many people are asking basic questions?
Why don't they search first?

Repeated questions are coming up everyday here.

Is it just a hobby or sickness online?

What do you think?

    if a person has to ask such basic questions, then he / she obviously does not know the capacity if the knowledge base contained here.

    and, of course, some people just take the easy way........

          Haha...beware on asking questions...you are correct because it would be a cause of cancellation of future projects when your possible clients search a common question

    Well,

    The search here can leave a lot to be desired at times but I think some of the new members either ignore it or seek the easy way out by asking questions.

    I just hate to see the same questions being asked day in and day out when a simple search would at least reveal enough information to make for a more 'intelligent' question that provokes a detailed response.

    Hi Ross

    What one person considers 'basic' is a major stumbling block for someone else. It's only basic or easy if you know the answer.

    For example, at the present time I'm trying to get my head round how to submit my site to all the major social networking sites. OK, I haven't asked a question because there are a few threads about it anyway. The point is that social bookmarking may be such a basic element of IM to one person but not another.

    Another thing is that newbies don't always think to hit the search button as there's so much here to take in.

    When I first started in the forum a few years ago I think it was about 3 months before I realised there even 'was' a search button :-)

    I agree that it can be irritating at times but I try to be patient about it.

    Yeah, maybe patience is the key for those small percentage and maybe they just have running out of time and didn't bother to search first. Thanks!

    I think sometimes, people don't get the search terms right for what they are looking for. I usually try and search first, but sometimes it is hard to figure out what term will find best what you are looking for.
