With a recent thread today in regards finding a image for an eBook cover it seems like a good time to ask if you judge an eBook by it's cover and to share what i call flickr art with you that relates back to that question.
These eBook covers are created over several days in between bits and bobs, and I use microsoft excel as a base to mix word art , text boxes images shapes and what ever else i need and then i mix all of that with microsoft paint to get the final results, but is the time worth it ? do people judge and eBook by the cover ?
The first is an cover done for one of Bryan Kumor's plr products, this uses a flickr art image that i rebuild in excel and then add the other bits n bobs to it. (all images sized down from page size)
Next is a cover i made for a free affiliate report i am giving away, this one uses an image that was in the report, i dragged it out and again rebuilt it all up in excel and paint.
and lastly this is the beginning of some new flickr art that will form a cover for a new product, the background will be in a pastel orange ( a orange version of the yellow above ) to set of the image better.
So do we buy eBooks based on the cover or is one simply wasting time ? share your covers if you have some.
