My Blog Is Earning Money

I started a blog about a month ago. I haven't really done much work with it. I've done a few product reviews, that's about it. I've gotten 288 unique visitors in the last 14 days. I've earned about $4 in adsense on just 2 clicks and I've sold 3 clickbank products but I don't know how anyone is finding the blog.

Yea, hopefully this is something that as you look back over the years you will have made thousands. I think of websites like stocks, but to me a website is a much better investment these days.

    Congrats...

But I suggest you add some form of analytics so that you have at least some idea where your traffic is coming from.

Do you not have a tracking code like analytics installed on the site? If not, get this going pronto. Then you will know where your visitors are coming from

Congrats on the sales. Wash, Rinse and Repeat. I know it sounds cliche, but all you need to do is keep the snow ball rolling with enough momentum and eventually it'll take off all on its own!

You need to get a Google Analytics plug-in put on your blog immediately. You can then find out how people are reaching your site, and which search-terms they are using to find you.

Using this information you can capitalize and increase your traffic!

Even if it is, it's important to know EXACTLY which keywords the users are searching with. This is the power of GA, not just knowing which sources, but drilling deeper and knowing which keywords.

Ha, dude. that was lucky. Were the products you reviewed popular? Maybe people are finding you by looking for product reviews.

This is very good results for being a new blog. Because the products are new, people trying to find the will often search for the name of the product and then come across a review site. Maybe your blot is ranking really well.

I would start adding more content and perhaps a subscription box to capture some emails and build your list.
As others have suggested, it would be a great idea to add Google analytics so you can track things and see whats going on. Good luck.

    • Wow!! I really couldn't imagine starting a blog these days without some sort of analytics!

That would be crazy frustrating, I feel for you. The worst thing is when sales come up in GA as direct - and there is no further information! Probably about 1/10 of my sales are direct and I have no idea where the people came from - drives me nuts...

But 100% of sales without analytics knowledge?

Man, that is working in the dark right there! Def throw GA, or even WP analytics onto your site my brother - almost always the first thing I do.

Thanks guys, I definitely do need some tracking. I had another click on an adsense ad last night. So far all my clicks are $1.50 or more....is that common? I only have about 4 clicks in 30 days

It depends on your niche and keywords. That sounds higher than average to me. What is your blog address?

Also if you are making money on adsense why not start putting anchor text links on your keywords that drive to a ClickBank product or some other sort of affiliate product? That'll allow you to track clicks and help make you some more money.

And definitely start collecting optins on your blog. You could put in a static sidebar optin, a lightbox popup, a slideup (from the bottom) to name a few.

Great work! Just getting started is half the battle. Now all you have to do is repeat the "formula".

Like everyone else is saying, I would get analytics going ASAP. It's not that challenging to get set up, but there is tons of help available if you aren't tech savy.

    Good luck and keep going!

Wordpress has an automatic function to tell the search engines about every post you're making.

I'm happy to hear that you're making money!

Kepp up the good work and leverage this with more reviews. The best thing to do is to invest the money you're making in more reviews like the these that make you money.

Assuming you're running a WordPress blog, use the Ultimate GA plugin. It's what I use on everything, and it's super simple. Just install it and paste your Google Analytics (GA) tracking code.

If you're running a Blogger blog... It's been a while, but I believe there's a built in, stripped down version of Google Analytics on every Blogger blog.

Awesome. I have a few blogs that are years old and although I rarely touch them anymore, I continue to get adsense revenue from them.
Hopefully this blog of yours will produce similar results.

Its a good sign that your blog generating $$ for you. But do some research for traffic, from where it is coming. If it is keyword specific then check keyword worth in tools like adword keyword suggestion tool. Install some tracker to your site like Google Analytics. And the important one do not disclose your site to anyone except second person is reliable because this may be creating competitor for you
