A free tip to get your affiliate niche sales off to a nice start for 2011! (no opt-in ;))

Here's a little give-back from me. I know you are probably still looking at how to cash in on Christmas 2010, but by now (hey, may not be too late!) you should have set up some pages on your niche sites containing the magic number 2011. There will be a lack of competition still for keywords relating to 2011 products. Right now, for example, I am getting a lot of traffic for '{CHILD'STOYNAME} 2011' to a page I set up targetting those keywords. On that page there is almost nothing except a sentence like "XXX have not yet announced their range for 2011 - you will probably have to wait till after Christmas for that, so why not check out XXXX for 2010 where there XYZ is really popular this Christmas" bla bla. Guess what, I get some nice little sales from people giving up on 2011 and buying 2010, plus I will be nicely set up for 2011 when the products actually DO come out

This could work for a lot of niches, so try it, nice return for not much work.

I could see how 2011 could be a good target keyword in 2010, but once the calendar catches up, every website on the planet will likely be competing with you for the search keyword 2011, making it harder for you to maintain your rankings on that keyword.

Agreed, but there's a LOT to be said for getting in there first. All the better if you pick up a domain name - just try any combination like newgames2012.com - there are people out speculating with those left right and centre. Though personally I wouldn't bother with registering a whole site, since it will die a death by year end.

Those kinds of page I keep updated by adding new products every now and then, tends to be more than enough to keep them on page one (though my niches are not mega-high competition, bear in mind).

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise
