7 Predictions for 2011

I just got this email from a dutch guy who's mailing list I am on, what do you think about it your thoughts please. Sorry if it is bad translated , I did it in Google translator, to long to do it all myself sorry.

"We are only 17 days away from the new year. A year full of opportunities .. new ambitions .. successes .. and setbacks. Do you know what exactly to expect with your company in the coming years? Do you have any business with you next year better bear in mind .. so
In 2011, your turnover and profits continue to see growth?

In recent days I've been working hard on seven key predictions where in 2011 the best takes into account. There are many things changing in the world of money on the internet .. and you would do better to quickly switch .. and thus a major advantage over all your competitors.

Are you ready? In a few minutes you know exactly what to expect in 2011 with your (future) business over the Internet.

PREDICTION # 1: Less advertise through Google

Since Google time and time again tough new rules are created .. and without notice, warning and advertisers out the door ever .. are fewer and fewer companies (and especially marketers like * you * and me) willing to continue advertising with Google.

What happens then? Simple. Google now has financially not complain, but when more and more advertisers to Google's switch to a competitor like Facebook .. Google will begin to have problems.

But .. on the other side. Google makes it like this course very appealing to take a look at its competitors. After all, who are also not standing still .. and from their we can flood our site with HUGE lot of visitors.

PREDICTION # 2: Facebook is THE way to advertise

It is important to start in 2011 with advertising on Facebook. As you probably already know .. Facebook is well underway, and does not take long before they even put off Hyves!

Looking back to some years back when I started advertising on Facebook .. there were not many Dutch and Belgian residents are very reasonably active.

Today is that changing at breakneck speed. More and more .. more .. and more people from the Netherlands and Belgium are active on this site and that means to us ..

.. HUGE NUMBER OF VISITORS!

You can go easy on small budgets of just a few euros a day starting with Facebook ..Depending on your needs and your budget, you can slowly increase. This is what you completely in your hands.

If you live in 2011 with your company still wants to be visible at all .. you would be better to advance to start advertising on Facebook. Try several approaches and see what most visitors for your poses.

PREDICTION # 3: MORE shops in 2011

You will say now fixed .. Duhhhhhhhh Aytac, is obvious! But listen carefully here ..

Look, today there are some sites where I buy much of it (think Bol.com, Amazon.com, ..).One by one all sites with a ..

.. WEBSHOP!

Why I buy at those sites? Because they get the confidence of me .. they shine with their "beautiful" web shops confidence .. so I'm slightly more inclined to take them off.

It is important to 2011 to see if your products or services in a shop can cast .. and such sales can realize (since 2011 a considerable number of people going to start a shop - mostly from home!). It can only be that you suddenly will be more .. and much more selling. So definitely worth testing.

PREDICTION # 4: Valuable information is scarce

How often it happens to us that we are not looking good and reliable information about a particular subject .. we leave behind the laptop or PC sit .. and after hours browsing still found no valuable information?

I do not know how it is with you, but I make this quite often lately it. REPEATEDLY!

There are hardly any websites that still offer very good information that we can use to improve our lives (in any way whatsoever). In 2011, valuable information more scarce ..scarce .. And more scarce!

But, once you have a website or a blog with valuable information on a specific topic where a reader actually do something with it .. then you in no time confident of a visitor to your site .. or blog.

And once you do, you will experience growth in 2011 you never dreamed of!

PROPHECY # 5: Focus is .. More importantly

Just surf the internet .. and you see a thousand and one ways to make money with your website and blog. But in 2011 even more important for you to focus on one or two ways that you can earn money on the internet .. instead of constantly thousand and one ways to try.

I have in the past often been through enough and I can tell you with confidence that you will earn MORE money when you go to work with one or two ways to make money .. than all the thousand ways. I mean it.

PREDICTION # 6: Faster action .. is rewarded even faster

If your daily duties consist solely of making your plans that "many" make money .. talk to friends .. colleagues .. about this on skype ..

.. then I have bad news for you.

In 2011 it is all you will not save them. Sorry. The year 2011 is only reserved for the fast guys amongst us who dare to strike mercilessly .. and who are not afraid to actually practice their plan to execute.

And when you have 2011 things you learn quickly implement in practice .. success will no longer a dream for you (you're faster than any other reward for all the hard and fast work .. what you are doing!)

PREDICTION # 7: You can get on TV .. Radio .. whatever you want!

If your daily .. week or some time free for Twitter, Facebook .. LinkedIn .. your own blog ..it can not be long before you are well known on the internet.

Believe it or not!

Social Media (including fall so things like Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, ..) in 2010 was hot .. but in 2011 it is one of the most important ways to many visitors to your website or blog to get - at a frantic pace!"

Although Facebook is popular most people don’t go on there looking for topics or to buy, they are there to connect. Granted there is a BIG market there if you have the right product. I don’t think it’s good to count Google out just yet. When I’m looking for something I go to Google not facebook.

Yeah...I think Big G is going to sit on his throne a bit longer. That is still the #1 way people search for info online. If you build a good size fan page or connect with a lot of people on FB, you may be less dependant on google though. That's a position I would love to be in.

PREDICTION # 4: Valuable information is scarce
I have the same opinion about this.... More people now get to hassle and produce less qualified information.

"PREDICTION # 4: Valuable information is scarce"

You can find good info all over the net and will remain that way.
If people are producing less qualified info is a completely different matter.

I agree with a lot of your points especially about advertising on Google via Adwords. They make it so expensive they are basically pushing themselves out of the game. There are a lot of alternatives that are much cheaper!

That's probably because Google is one of the sources that convert the best. On the other hand, Facebook may still not be mature enough to really advertise with a high conversion ratio unless your product is of social nature. Forget the relatively smaller world of digital products and come to real life. Do you believe that the chance that you are going to go to Facebook if you want to buy a lawn mower (for example) is high? What you may do though is get your recommendation from your friends on Facebook but buy on Amazon.

By the way, how many of you are aware that Amazon is all set to use the social networking information provided by Facebook to improve their product recommendation? The integration may be significant, but proabbly in a way that is rather dificult to imagine now (and I can imagine a few easier cases already but I am sure it is not going to stop at that).

Thanks for all of your reply's so far.

I think you better start building a good blog abouth what you have to offer. Or at least have a blog to give added value to your main website.

If you have a blog you could use a plug in to capture visitors into subcribers and offer them your newsletter or other intensive to get them on your list. And you know what you can do to monotize your list after that, depeding in what niche you are of course.

If you don't know how to monotize let me know maybe I can be of some help.

There is one big prediction for 2011 that you have missed, I think. I predict there will be more laws and more taxation on the Internet. Governments will want to restrict the freedom of the Internet because of Wikileaks, etc and that will affect everyone. Also, governments are hurting for money. I think there will be a major move to tax all transactions in the coming year.

You have picked very good point donhx. And we are already facing such things. Like FTC is putting a lot of pressure on affiliates and creating rules which are making affiliate marketing more difficult and game of big guys.

OP's posted predictions article is largely rubbish. I've never clicked a FB ad in my life.

Now celente has some interesting thoughts and IMHO is bang on the money for 2011. Inflation is coming, bigtime. Corporate bond prices have collapsed in the last couple of months. The 2008 crisis has not gone away. Peak debt has occurred. Nobody is talking about this.

what people do not know about me, is that I use to work on the NYSE floor and I get to meet people who are higher up and know alot more than just us morning coffee poters and jam on toasters if you know what i mean.

I could be wrong, but the people who gave me this info that I posted, are almost never wrong.

    Interesting read. Thanks for sharing.

I see hyper inflation coming to the U.S. in the next 24 months. The Fed is printing money to buy its own debt. China was the last country buying U.S. debt and totally stopped in November.

U.S. Manufacturers and food suppliers have held prices in the past few years and will NOT be able to continue. A MAJOR snack food company in the U.S. has seen food products increase 50-70% in the past 2 years, without raising prices. They will be forced to soon. This will create a domino effect in the economy.

Gas to $5.00 a gallon, heck maybe even milk to $5.00 a gallon.

The U.S. dollar will dive in value against other currencies, thereby taking other world currencies down as well...

So, what does that have to do with IM? If I knew the answer, I would certainly be trying to find ways to capitalize on it. Definitely brainstorming on how to position myself and my family for hyper inflation.

I also agree with previous posters that the state and federal governments will find a way to get additional taxes on internet commerce.

In fact I recently received a letter from the State of Alabama (where I reside). The letter stated that I did not declare any internet purchases for 2005, 2006 or 2007 on my state income tax return. They asked me to enter the total amounts of all internet transactions where state taxes where not collected, and remit the 4% (AL State Sales Tax Rate) plus penalties and interest. As of yet, we are asked to self-report, self-pay for this. They will find a way to start collecting.

All my humble engineering, Auburn University, cigar smoking, bbq cooking and eating wannabe IM guru opinion. :-)

Just look to the buzz words on TV and the news. Then you can capitolize on the trend before they occur. It is not has hard as it may sound.

    Hi

Of the predictions outlined earlier, I really like number 4 about real information is scarce.

Much of the information I search for on the net returns a whole pile of sites that are just aggregators of other peoples information or link sites to other suppliers, and it is very hard to find a good, free, comprehensive information site.

More power to those people who develop a (dare I say, A "Traditional") website that provides people with free, comprehensive information about any subject they are searching for.
